Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I assume that you are visiting Kobe is via Regent Explorer? If this is the case, Regent should be providing free shuttle bus to a central downtown area. I would suggest calling Regent customer service and try to find out where the drop off and pick up will be in Kobe.
  2. Going on our first Regent cruise coming up on April 1st. Made all our excursion choices almost a year ago. I have viewed YouTubes recently which showed some excursions previous passengers have taken. I wish I would have thought of this information source a year ago. What I am wondering, do past passengers find that some people cancel their original excursion choices either on board or just before boarding? To be more specific, are these cancellations for excursions that had a fee associated with it? Also do past passengers find that Regent adds some last minute excursions?
  3. Have previously taken over 20 cruises on other lines. Coming up in April will be our first cruise on Regent. I know that many services and amenities are included in the cruise fare but I am wondering have other passengers received any on board credit without having to ask their travel agent? Also curious as to what the commission is to travel agents who book cruises with Regent.
  4. First Regent cruise is coming up in April. Just wondering what liquor is supplied in the mini fridge or cabin bar area. We are booked in Concierge cabin. I assume you can request a specific liquor as well.
  5. What diet soft drinks and or diet juices does Regent usually stock on their ships? Thank in advance for your feedback.
  6. Sailing on Regent Explorer in April, this will be our first cruise on Regent. Aside from room service for breakfast what other options are there on Explorer? Is there a breakfast buffet? Just feel that buffet style is faster for breakfast.
  7. Tube amps, thank you for for your report on on your current Japan cruise. We go on our first Regent cruise in April of next year as well as our first Japan cruise. I have been to Japan several times years ago on business. Certainly anxious to read further reports on your experience both on the cruise and land excursions. We too are also doing the Regent 3 day pre cruise excursions. I know Tokyo is a very large city with a lot of people so that could create a hectic situation if you were in a tour group. Looking forward to your further reports.
  8. Booked on the Explorer in April 2024 for Tokyo to Tokyo cruise. I have been to Japan previously on business trips. I know that tipping in restaurants in Japan is not acceptable. Therefore, I am wondering if tipping excursion guides is acceptable and or customary?
  9. Currently booked on the Solstice in March 2025, Hong Kong to Singapore in Aqua Class. Seeing some negative food reviews for post covid Celebrity cruises. Just wondering if this is also true in the Blu Restaurant?
  10. We have been on Oceania 4 times, once on Riviera, twice on Marina and once on Regatta. We have also sailed on Viking twice. I prefer Oceania over Viking by a little bit. I would choose Marina or Riviera over Serena. We are currently booked on Vista in September 2024.
  11. Just checked the app again and now the QR code is back and it shows blue lane since we pick up medallions at cruise port. What a system Princess has. I liked Viking better where you don’t have to deal with this inefficient process.
  12. Leaving to do a land portion before cruise on 8/24. Two months ago the app showed green lane then two and a half weeks ago we were blue land and a week ago my QR code showed up . Now today I checked and there is nothing. I suppose this might be normal as excursions and dining close down being so close to departure. Would be nice of Princess to show a message stating this if in fact it is the case.
  13. Have sailed previously on Viking and Oceania where there are no formal nights. I assume if you eat dinner in the buffet that formal dress there is not a requirement? What about a place like Alfredo’s or even the specialty restaurants, is formal dress still a requirement? Very used to country club casual type dress for dinner.
  14. I have a cruise coming up in 2.5 weeks. My wife and I both have $50 on board credit each. I assume this shows up on the medallion and I am wondering if this on board credit could be used in the casino? Thank you in advance for your feedback.
  15. Called Princess today.I am green lane but since I requested to pick up the medallion at the ship they told me to use the blue lane. Seems like a process that could used a lot of troubleshooting ahead of launch.
