  1. OP - be grateful there are only 300 there were 600 and 500 on mine. It’s not the children that is the problem - it’s the parents that don’t supervise and It’s HAL’s lack of activities for children. IIRC Club HAL on the Pinnacle Class ships only accommodate 45. I went on several B2B2B cruises to join friends. The 9 day had fewer children. I have no problem with children. I do have a problem with unsupervised children. I still had a decent cruise. My friends were good at finding spots where no one else mobbed it. You need to make the best of the situation - my fault booking at that time of the year but I had no concept of so many children. I stayed on board on our first stop in Cabo to use the hot tub and pool 😂 I normally do much longer cruises so my eyes were opened. My fault for booking when I did. Find your spot and enjoy. Don’t worry about what’s not right but try to find some things that and you will be much happier, I hope. That’s what I tried to do.

  3. Oh NO on the chicken pox! 😱. Prayers for your DH’s cardiology appointment with his heart aneurysm - that is a big worry 🙏 @Seasick Sailor sorry to hear of your DH’s report 😔 @LAFFNVEGAS a very happy anniversary to you and Tom 🥂 For crying out loud, if the doctor says you need 9, you need 9. when did insurance companies become doctors?? 😡 It sure looks like a flower to me 🙂 That is great news, Ann 🙂. She still has to be careful and follow the rules though. I’m glad it is minor but a fracture is a fracture and care must be taken until it heals. Best wishes for Pat’s appointment 🤞 You deserve a vacation with all your nursing. I hope you can go on your cruise 🤞 I am so jealous of you and the others with flowers blooming already. I remember being in Victoria shortly after this time of year and was amazed by the glorious flowers, rhododendrons, etc already in full bloom. Absolutely gorgeous. I have a wait to go. I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer, Roy - but cold water is devastating and does so much damage to the body so fast. I believe the longest a person can survive is just a few hours at the maximum. I am afraid that there will be no miracle 😢. I would be ecstatic if I was mistaken, believe me.
  4. Good Tuesday morning - a grim one with the news. Thanks Rich, Roy, Rich, Vanessa, Ann, Debbie & Dixie. Important days - especially Diabetes & Epilepsy awareness. Always loved the live long and prosper saying by the Vulcans. I like the Tagore quote. The meal sounds great if someone wants to go to the trouble to make it for me 😉 A truly great day in history - the polio vaccine has saved so many. @Heartgrove your pictures of Sam and his height and weight brought my own Maverick to mind. He was my first dog 25 years ago and actually my avatar on CC for many years. May I take you down my memory lane? I had never had a dog - just a multitude of cats and had no idea that this little puppy would grow into this massive 125pound, lean dog who was taller than my waist. Like Sam, he was a true gentle giant. He adored children and was so gentle with them it was incredible. When he passed, the neighbours mourned the loss of the “King of the Hill” He was a real winter dog and I would have to drag him in on days when it was too cold even for him. He would go to the top of highest snowbank and be very content there for some time 🙂 Ivan had his Librela shot today, thankfully. He was showing signs of being uncomfortable and pain the last couple of days. His vet comes next month and I am going to ask about increasing his dosage assuming he is better after his shot. I did some research and it is allowed. Hopefully the shot does the trick. I wish there was one for humans as it seems we have the same problem. Prayers for those on the Care list, those suffering losses, grief, pain, health problems, worries and those that need them 🙏 Cheers to those celebrating and cruising 🥂
  5. I just came on to report too, Roy, It’s horrific. They are searching the water. It sounds like 20 cars, possibly construction workers as well are in the water along with most of the bridge. Absolutely horrific. My prayers for them all and to the brave men and women in the water trying frantically to see if anyone can be saved in the frigid water 🙏

  7. I am so sorry to hear about the cold. Bless you for protecting others 👍 I hope you are improved enough tomorrow to get to Danang 🙏 Great news that Ana is making the effort 👏 👍. I know it is a struggle but ist starts that way. Good for her! I am so happy to hear that she is trying. It’s a celebration of her and her spirit 🙂 A very happy birthday to your DS! I am so glad she is home and hope she has the best ever! I completely understand and agree. I can understand your conundrum. I couldn’t handle listening to that if the other person was refusing treatment. What a shame. I hope they arrive before you leave 🤞 Oh darn Joy 😢 I hope supplements and the new diet can help 🙏 thank heavens, Debbie 👍. You are in a difficult position not being guardian but in any emergency you should be allowed to take care of River. The grandmother should be able to designate it, I think.
  8. DD DH & I absolutely loved Cobh. We stayed there - enjoying the ambience, lovely sights, woolen stores and the Titanic museum. If you are there, the Titanic museum is really worth visiting. It’s one the site of where Titanic’s old terminal - the last port Titanic visited before crossing the ocean. This is the pier - The Titanic could technically dock but the Captain was in a hurry to cross the ocean and make a new record so the psssengers were tendered to the ship. Different passenger’s berths 3rd class passengers: Higher class passengers - apologies for the dark picture - it was dark there and this was the best I could do (flash was not allowed). An actual picture. and some more of beautiful Cobh
  9. Happy Monday & thanks Rich, Roy, Vanessa, Dixie, Debbie & Ann. Good collection of days - I am all of Peace but can’t bed-in today. Neither my physio appointment nor Ivan will permit it 😉 Good quote except a bad attitude is not the only disability - at least, not IMO. The meal & wine sound good. We got diverted to Cobh on one cruise and it was one of our favourite stops. Just an absolutely beautiful place and wonderful people. Will look for pics later for you. HAL’s website worked last night and I was able to cancel my tour to the port we are no longer going to and get my HIA shore excursion back and spend it again 👍 Quick post - physio today and I am armed with different suggestions I have been given to see which she thinks would be beneficial. And hopefully some new ideas for exercises now that the back has been X-rayed. Prayers for those on the Care list, those suffering losses, grief, pain, health problems, worries & those that need them 🙏 Cheers to those celebrating & cruising 🥂
  10. Absolutely beautiful and so clever for using left over fabric ♥️ I remember chatting to your DH about his book on the cruise. It sounded fascinating 👍 You weren’t bad. You probably used a word that woke up the algorithm and froze your post until it could be reviewed. it happens if we use Captain DD’s name, too 😉

  12. Everyone’s experience is different and subjective. the places I like to be and usually are not busy were packed. I’m glad you had a wonderful cruise - I enjoyed mine despite the medical disembarkation but I guess I’m not used to those lines that snake around Club Orange to get into the dining room and fighting my way to get to CO through the crowd. I had a fabulous time on the Rotterdam later so it’s not the Pinnacle Class. IMO that ship did not have enough crew to handle the passengers onboard let alone the children. the ship was short on crew and full on passengers - check my numbers which I got at sail away. In any case, it’s not a situation I would do again without very careful planning on a much longer cruise. YMMV. edited to say - I think the biggest problem is that HAL has nothing to keep children busy and occupied/entertained. Club HAL only holds 45 what do the other 555 do?
  13. Bless you and Sue for understanding and helping her ♥️ It will be hard but so worth it. You are giving her a new childhood, bless you both and her grandmother ♥️
