Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. This is what I did for my kids on our cruise in December except I set up the limit during online check-in. I gave them a blank gift card (no money on it since the amount I was giving them wasn't an available denomination) that I wrote an amount on and set that as their individual spending limit. Turns out, 2 of my 3 kids spent their money in the fun shops instead of in the arcade, but whatever. It was their "gift card" to use however they wanted! 👍
  2. Ship - Breeze Deck - 1 Stateroom # - 1246 & 1248 Stateroom Category – 6M deluxe ocean view Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Mostly. 1246 is directly above a gangway so you can hear when it's being pulled out and laid down in port from both rooms, and we could hear the rolling of luggage carts below us the night before debarkation. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - yes; 1246 and 1248 connect to each other. Both connecting doors worked just fine and were held open by magnets on the backside. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – not a balcony, but there is a large window in each room with a very deep ledge. Perfect for sitting or displaying towel animals as my kids liked to do. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - n/a Was wind a problem? - n/a If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? - In 1248, the secondary light switch by the bed didn't work so the overhead lights had to be turned off or on by the door. The bathroom with the shower in 1246 reeked horribly of mold, and that bathroom door also wouldn't latch closed. We had to jimmy around and secure it directly with the lock when using it. Any other comments? - 1246 is directly off the elevators (meaning 1248 is one door around the corner), but the only hallway noise was during port day when people were trying to get to deck 0 to get into Cozumel. Both rooms have an extra sink and bathtub which is very deep, and there is also a shower head so it's not limited to just baths.
  3. Some ships have kiosks in the casino that you can use also. The only caveat is that they don't give coins.
  4. What kid growing up didn't eat dirt and retain the memory?? 😉
  5. News flash! It's perfectly valid to be disappointed in something. I didn't see anyone in this thread say anything about it making or breaking their cruise. Good job trying to be dismissive, though. 👍
  6. Lanyards? I found a pack of lanyards on Amazon that are adjustable so that they don't hang my kids' S&S cards down to their pants.
  7. Correct. There are no TSA-like restrictions.
  8. Yep. You can essentially buy an A+ rating. BBB is a non-factor for me in deciding whether or not to work with a particular business.
  9. There was one time I didn't receive a gift card I paid for, and a quick call to AARP fixed it.
  10. The free Carnival Hub app is going to be very helpful while on board (there's not really anything you can do before you sail besides it being a countdown). I know a lot of people complain about it being pushed so heavily because they like to "lock their phone in the safe" while on vacation, but it really is a handy tool. The daily schedule and menus and things are on there (yes, you can still get printed copies), and you can stick a heart on activities you're interested in so you get a reminder later. There is an optional chat feature on there you can use to communicate with other people in your party, and it's $5 per device for the whole cruise. But you can get along just fine without the chat. Make sure you put your phone on airplane mode after you connect to the ship's wi-fi to use the app.
  11. You got that right!! People demand free stuff for lesser issues all the time. That would've been huge.
  12. I have to eat at the Mongolian Wok for lunch. I don't know what I'm gonna do if I ever sail on a ship that doesn't have it. ðŸĪŠ
  13. Still in the 70s. I'll ride your coattails of excitement until it's time for my own!
