Can you elaborate? Since they basically always have some sort of sale, do you call them up and say can I have full price rate please? Not trying to be sarcastic, but the way it reads, it seems it would be not worth it.

So if I have a cruise booked for later this year, I couldn't use one of the OBC rewards?

The MyVegas rewards are for new bookings only so you cannot apply it to a cruise you already have booked. You would have to cancel and rebook. MyVegas rewards are not combinable with promotional rates but they ARE combinable with restricted rates (ie resident rates, Senior rates, military etc). So if you get lucky and there is resident rate for example that is a good price, than a reward could be used.

Anytime I have used them previously, it has always been on a Canadian Resident Rate. When you price out a cruise, you can tell what promo was applied. If it says Resident Rate, you should be able to book the cruise through MyVegas and apply the MyVegas Reward.

The RCL site just shows you whatever promo is the cheapest price is for the cruise you are looking at. I guess theoretically it is possible that there may be a resident rate available that is not showing up when you do your search because the BOGO or WOW promo is cheaper. In that case, you could call RCL and ask if there are any resident rates available for the sailing you are looking at based on your state/Province/country. In my experience though, it there is a resident rate available on any given sailing, it is always cheaper than whatever BOGO is going on at the time and is the price that shows up in my search.

Hopefully that made sense!

Have you used it with a promotion? I just booked my cruise on the Harmony of the Seas, I have over 1 million gold coins and would love to buy OBC, but I am 93 days out, so does that mean I can't buy the reward? Plus, when I booked, there was a promotion going on, I think it was 60% off second passenger. So does that mean I can use this reward? The whole thing is so confusing. I am not new to MyVegas, I have used it in Vegas many times. If it can't be used with any other promotions, whats the point :(

You cannot use it with promotions but you can use it with restricted rates if you quality and they are on your sailing (ie military, resident, senior rates, etc). You would have to buy the reward and email the address provided to determine what the price would be.

I'm sure this has been asked, but can't seem to find it.

My husband and I both have MyVegas accounts. So, I know OBC has to be for new bookings. Can he get the OBC with his gold coins and I get the cruise with mine? Then when he calls to attach the OBC we then book the cruise with the award I have "purchased" with my gold coins?

No it is one reward per booking. And he would not be able to use the OBC one on a free cruise.

I stumbled on this thread before booking our cruise/myVegas offer last week and appreciate all the info on here! l thought it might be helpful to share our experience with redeeming a myVegas offer through Royal Caribbean. My husband purchased the $250 OBC offer and after receiving email confirmation we were giving a number to call in to book. We were able to book our cruise at the current promotional rate of 60% off the 2nd guest price (same as listed on their website) and still received the myVegas OBC. This is my first time dealing with RCCL (have used other myVegas offers, though) and thought the customer service was great. Not sure if this was a fluke or something that varies by which agent you deal with, but figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a try :).

Happy cruising all!

That is awesome! I just purchased the $250 reward and sent an email a little while ago. Hopefully I will hear back with the pricing.

Interesting. Our reward from myVegas instructed us to email clubroyale@rccl.com with specific contact info for the purchaser and guest. After sending that, we received 2 emails from Club Royale within the same day. The first was just a confirmation that they received it and we will here from them with more details soon. The 2nd email instructed us to call 1 888-561-2234 to book through them directly. We ended up calling them 3 times before officially booking and spoke to 3 different representatives. The repeat calls were an issue on our end - we had several questions and wanted to be sure before making a down payment. Each representative quoted us the same price.

I know in the past I have had issues with getting emails from myVegas - some weird thing with my yahoo spam folder, not sure if this could be the problem here as well. Strangely enough, my husband has never had an issue getting emails from them through his yahoo account.

I'll be curious to here about your outcome. I feel that there is a lack of consistency with redeeming myVegas rewards, wish they could sort that out!

I just got off the phone with them. They did indeed say that it was combinable with the 30% off sale but not with Casino rates. I already have several cruises booked that I originally booked near when the sailings released so we got pretty good deals and I think we will stay with what we have. I am not going to cancel my reward until a few weeks as the new sailings start coming out next week in case something catches my eye :)

I did ask and I guess free drinks in the casino are no longer part of the deal :(

BTW here are a few examples of what I priced out. Has to be a new reservation booked with ClubRoyale

Anthem Nov 25 2017 (7 day)

Interior for 2 - $1564.26 USD incl taxes

Serenade Nov 24 2017 (10 day)

Interior for 2 - $1710.08 USD incl taxes

Freedom March 3 2018

Interior for 3 - $2183.19 USD incl Taxes

I got a killer deal on the Freedom in November 25 in the Ben & Jerry Suite so I am keeping that reservation :)

Glad you were able to get in touch with them. That is sad to hear about the free drinks going away :(.

Since I'm a newbie to Royal Caribbean, your mention of the Ben & Jerry Suite prompted an immediate google search for pictures. That looks awesome!!

I could care less about the cow stuff, but I am excited about the free ice cream and suite perks :)

I'm just looking for some clarification on the language on the reward page for the OBC. It says "reward must be redeemed within 30 days of new booking". Everyone is indicating you have to buy the reward first and then book your cruise, so does this mean you have up to 30 days after your buy the reward to book your cruise and apply the OBC? Unfortunately we booked our cruise March 20th, so it sounds like we won't be eligible (I have a room I like and don't want to risk it by re-booking), but I'd still like to clarify this. Thanks!

The T&Cs have recently changed so it is best to call them and see if your cruise is eligible to add the MyVegas reward. If "reward must be redeemed within 30 days of new booking" means you have to add the reward within 30 days of booking your cruise you should still be good. I know you cannot add MyVegas rewards to cruises booked using Casino rates.

The T&C's say "Only valid for new reservations made through Royal Caribbean Reservations at clubroyale@rccl.com."

Thanks for the reply. As it turns out I was able to apply the reward without changing my room. The only catch was the rates had gone up a bit since I booked, but less than $250 so it still worked to take the OBC. I can still change the reservation again (and keep the $250 OBC) if the rates go down before the cruise.

I recently redeemed the $250 obc on a cruise in September. Does anyone know if you can transfer the booking to a travel agent? The online agency I usually use is offering free tips. Would be great to combine the two but the $250 obc is worth more than the free tips.

Booked the Navigator Dec 7 2018 direct with RC yesterday. Bought $250 OBC reward today. Sent in my info. Got a call saying I was eligible because I had made the booking in the past 14 days. They said I could reprice and keep credit but could not change ship or date. Credit now shows on my res.

If it helps anyone, I was able to transfer my booking to a travel agent and was able to keep the obc and take advantage of the TAs free gratuities.
