I posted this by accident in the wrong board.

We are in Dunedin for 2 full days on our Azamara cruise. I can't figure out why we have 2 days there. Any thoughts as to what there is to do in Dunedin?

You can spend one day riding the Taieri Gorge railway, and then spend the evening and next day on the Otago Peninsula, which is very pretty. My wife and I stayed at Larnach Castle in the Larnach Lodge Rooms (we had the corner suite which had spectacular views), and had our own small group dinner at the castle. One of the highlights of our trip to New Zealand.

How lucky are you staying two days at Dunedin, on a cruise ship.

Google New Zealand.com Dunedin and you will discover there is so much to see and do there, you could easily spend five days.

Wildlife - Royal Albatross Centre (At right time of year you will see these big birds on their nests on right hand side as you depart.) Penguins and Seals

Historic Architecture - beautiful railway station, Lanark Castle

Taleri Gorge Railway trip

Chinese Gardens

Port Chalmers is a nice little town with lovely gardens to walk around
