What to see in one day in Sydney using the Eco Hopper ferry boat 24 hr tickets.

We will be arriving in Sydney in EOS and staying in Circular Quay for 2 days. We have one day already planned for an 11 hr tour to Blue Mountains. The other day we were hoping to see the sights using the 24 hr Eco Hopper ferry boats. Any suggestions on what to see during that 24 hr pass. We love beautiful scenery, beaches, nice restaurants. Not into water sports, hitting the bars, We will probably want to start first thing in the morning and go until about 10 pm. We've seen things about Manly Bay, Watsons Bay and Rose Bay. Anything else we need to see. We are in our 60's and in moderate health-can't see walking up the bridge or anything real strenuous. During the Blue Mountains tour we will get to go to the Featherdale wildlife park too. Would like to have a planned itinerary of what to see using the Eco Hopper ferry boats and suggested order in which to see them. Help.

I wouldn't bother with the Eco Hopper. Use the HoHo bus to see Sydney by land, perhaps stopping a a couple of stops. Sydney is more than just the harbour. Note there are two HoHos, one goes out to Bondi Beach.

In the late afternoon take a regular ferry to Manly. Walk through to the ocean side. If you go to the right once you reach the esplanade then there is a lovely walk around to Shelly Bay. Have dinner in Manly - there are lots of good cafes on the ocean side, and also around the ferry wharf. Once it's dark take the ferry back to Circular Quay. That way you see the harbour by daylight and by night.

Thanks for the info but I have already purchased the Eco Hopper so I'd need information for the day using the ferry service. Thanks for the info on what to do in Many-that is one of the places that I want to visit.

Where does Eco Hopper go? I have seen a private ferry service which goes direct from Watson's Bay to Manly. You cannot do that on the public ferries

Taronga Zoo is worth spending some time at. Take the gondola to the top and walk down.

There is a really nice walk at Watsons Bay, to the lighthouse on South Head. You walk up past the pub and turn left. Follow that street until it reaches the beach. The track to South Head starts from the right side of the beach. It's a fairly easy walk

There isn't much at Rose Bay, just shops, restaurants/cafes etc. There is a walk to Watson's Bay but it's fairly complicated. Some of it is through the streets but there is a lovely track that follows the shore for a while. I could give you more info on this if you're interested. It takes 1.5 to 2 hours and there are a few short sections that are steep.

Circular Quay and Darling Harbour are popular tourist spots. Plenty of good restaurants/cafes there too. Pyrmont Bay has the casino.

I don't have any info on Fort Denison and the Quarantine Station.

As to the order of seeing things, that's up to you, although I still recommend Manly in the late afternoon and evening.

I'll second OzKiwis suggestion re Manly in the afternoon/evening. That's an excellent use of your pass. You can end the night with a stroll around Circular Quay to the Opera House.'

I wouldn't call Rose Bay a beach but Watsons Bay really is worth a visit for fish and chips at lunch time - fancy dining or dangle your legs over the sea wall and eat takeaway. Oh and there's a great lighthouse too.

Fort Denison is a bit of a secret treasure in the middle of Sydney Harbour and show cases a part of our convict history. The North Head Quarantine Station has a different historical perspective :) I personally think the next cruise port should be built out there. It's not a bad entry to the harbour by ferry or water taxi.
