Panama Canal

Cruising the Panama Canal on Holland. Flying to Fort Lauderdale the day before the cruise. Can anyone suggest a good hotel to stay? Also, how far is the Holland America cruise terminal from the airport. Thank you.

We stay at the Embassy Suites.

Port Everglades is next door to the airport.

As mentioned the Florida departures board is a great source of information.

Like Cruiser Bruce, I often recommend the Embassy Suites in Fort Lauderdale.

We use either Holiday Inn or Embassy Suites on SE 17th St.

We always stay at the Embassy Suites pre and post cruise.

It is close to the port. Also there is the Harbor Shops right behind the Embassy Suites that has restaurants, some stores, a Publix (grocery store) and Total Wine if you want to buy a couple bottles of wine to take on the ship.

We've stayed at the Hyatt Place Convention Center which is also in walking distance to the Harbor Shops Center (Total Wine, Publix). We've been able to get good rates going through Value Trips. Free breakfast in the morning and a short cab ride to the port (though they do offer a paid shuttle service).

Hilton Marina is also lovely.
