Celebrity Equinox Casino

I am new to Celebrity cruises. I will be going on the Equinox in December and wondering how their casino is. Has anyone hit any jackpots on their slots? What slots do they have? Do they have the table games, Three Card Poker and Let It Ride? Does the casino run any giveaways or promotions for its players? Does it get very crowded and smoky? Do you use your room key to play the slots, so they can track your play or do you get a separate card for the casino. If you cash out of a slot machine, does the money go into a casino account? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

there is no smoking in the casino. Most of the time it is not thatcrowded like Carnival always seems to be.

I usually play slots and a little craps. Craps was $10 min vs Carnival $5 min. cannot remb. specific machines

when you cash out on a slot machines it gives you a voucher that you cash out at the cage or use it on another machine.Unless you are using OBC - they developed a weird way in dealing with OBC

but basically you cannot cash it out at the casino but you can use it to play slots or table games. they went thru a lot of effort to stop people from cashing out OBC at the Casino for some reason.

I never hit the jackpot on Celebrity. They track play on the slots as u put your card in the machine. I think if you play table games you should tell the casino manager that you want to be rated

they do have a bluechip club but they will not tell you what it takes to get invited.

hope I answered some of your questions. Equinox is a great ship.

We found the casino on our Celebrity cruise to be one of the tightest we'd ever seen. On most ships, you'll hear and see a few people hitting big pays or jackpots...but none of that seemed to happen on the Reflection. Even the players at the table games didn't seem to be having much fun. The casino was only crowded on a few evenings of the trip.

Slots were Cash or Ticket in / Ticket out.

Edit: One other thing: The casino manager seemed clueless about Celebrity's Blue Chip club and it's relationship with MGM. In the end, I played on my MGM club membership and had my points going to that. My DW, who does not have an MGM player card, played on the Blue Chip casino card, so her points stayed with them. I don't recall that you have to be invited to the Blue Chip club...you just go to the casino desk and ask for a card.

I hope the Equinox casino is better than the one on the Reflection. I don't mind losing, but I at least want to get some play and have some fun. I will inquire about the casino card. Thanks for the info.

Another poster is reviewing live on Equinox and says that he saw $5 tables the first few nights of the current cruise, and he thought that extended to craps too. Hopefully that will continue when I'm onboard next month. $5 tables can stretch out your gambling budget a lot more than $10 tables-- I'll play $5 tables onboard but find other stuff to do at sea if they're $10.

  • 2 months later...

I went on Equinox back in 2014, i can't speak for the current setup but at the time the casino host was the best i ever had. It was my first Celebrity cruise having cruised before many times on Royal. In this case i had cruised on Allure 5 months earlier and got some VIP perks. I know that status would carry to my next royal cruise but was not sure about Celebrity. I forget the company line but either way he took care of me and i started the cruise with perks like the free casino drinks. Throughout the cruise he was very nice and stopped by at least once a night to say hi, sometimes he would randomly come over to offer a free premium dinner or i would come back to the room to find a dessert tray or complementary bottle of wine (it was a 2 week cruise).

In the end i felt i was treated as good if not better than most land based casinos. But it was night/day in how i was treated on previous Royal cruises where a free drink coupon was considered a big deal....
