Immigration on board ?- Canada to USA

We are coming from the UK and will be doing the Quebec to NYC cruise in September. We have all our visa papers for Canada and USA but are not sure if we have to go through immigration as we pass from one country to another during the cruise. Do you do this as you leave the ship or is it done on board? Thanks :confused:

We're cruising with Royal Caribbean.....

 

..on the Vision of the Seas. The first US port after the Canadian ports is Bar Harbor, Maine which is a tender port. Custom agents will come aboard there for their inspection. No one will tender in until the inspection is complete.
