Car Rental Insurance in New Zealand

We are going to rent a car while we are in New Zealand. In most countries we use Amex credit card as it gives us insurance for the cost of $25 per rental. This will not work in New Zealand. Are there any credit cards that can give us this low cost insurance coverage in New Zealand.

I was in that situation earlier year, my credit card(s) insurance did not provide the coverage in New Zealand. As much as I hated to do it, I paid for the "excess" coverage, (similar to CDW) to reduce the "excess" from $5,000 to Nil. The alternative is a $5,000 hold on the credit card and a possible fine tooth examination of the vehicle on return for damage.
