We have done two cruises involving South America and one from Australia.

We have two more out of Australia next year.

We did Celebrity Infinity twice

1) Ft. Lauderdale to Valpaeiaso, Chile, December 2011. Great cruise, going through the Panama Canal, then down the W. coast of SA. Only have to fly one way back to USA.

2) Around the Horn of SA, Buenos Aires to Valpasiaro, Chile, Jan 2014. Wonderful trip, one of our favorites.

3) Top End of Australia from Perth to Sydney Australia, with a stop in Bali, Indonesia. We loved Australia. Cruise on Celebrity Solstice.

Nest cruises

4) Royal Caribbean Radiance of the Seas, 11 days to NZ, a RT out of Sydney.

5) Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas, 23 days transpacific from Sydney to Seattle, includes Fi;ji, Hawaii and other islands.

We cruise the Caribbean mostly and have done Greek Islands . My husband wants to see the southern sky/cross and what better way than to cruise .

Be aware that summer is in Dec/jan/feb. it can get very hot during those months. The kids are on school holidays from late December until end of January. Up north they get tropical cyclones. In those months.

Have a look a a repositioning cruise in September or April. A great way to see the country and lessens the flight back to the USA if you go from Australia to Hawaii

Seeing the southern skies from a cruise ship sounds like a wonderful dream. Ask the Captain can he dim the lights for a better view of the Southern Cross.
