SHIP: Eclipse

CABIN #: 1663

DECK #: 11

CLASS: S1

AREA: aft corner

BED NEAR: n/a

QUIET?: yes

BALCONY VIEW: fabulous!!

BALCONY SIZE: corner wrap-around, two chairs, footstools, and a table.

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: there are two poles in the cabin (major support structures) but they didn't bother us. You have to enter a "foyer" to access the cabin; the foyer is shared with one other cabin. Never any issues. Yes, it's a walk to the aft but we don't mind a bit. We love these S1 cabins. Veranda does not have overhang. The side round window lets in lots of light during the day. Very spacious. Double door closet with hanging space and a third single unit with shelves and a safe. Would book again without hesitation [emoji2][emoji1303]

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 2183

DECK #: 12

CLASS: S2

AREA: Port, slightly back of middle

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: Depends. First few days were very quiet, then something changed upstairs in Ocean View Cafe. The push carts sounded like someone rolling a bowling ball above us, a few times a day, but quite softly. They were not loud. Once or twice, we could hear clanking of dishes when the staff was clearing dishes. Did not keep us awake or bother us much. Our friend next door at 2181 had the same experience - some noise once in a while but nothing too loud or bad. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. On the other hand, those on the starboard side reported the sound on their side was horrendous. They collected signatures on the starboard side and lodged complaints several times to the guest relations, including to their manager Julie, as well as to the Luminae staff.

BALCONY VIEW: Great

BALCONY SIZE: Normal

WIND A PROBLEM?: None

SOOT A PROBLEM?: None

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS No problems with the unit. Clean and sparkly. We had the best stateroom attendant Melvin, and probably the worst butler.

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 2156

DECK #: 12

CLASS: Skysuite

AREA: Midship

BED NEAR:

QUIET?: a little noise from above on occasion but nothing that should bother anybody

BALCONY VIEW: on the hump

BALCONY SIZE: normal for the class

WIND A PROBLEM?:none

SOOT A PROBLEM?:N/A

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:I researched this cabin extensively and was shocked to find out that there is a very annoying vibration in the room.Who would have thought that a midship deck 12 Expensive skysuite would feel like a deck 3 aft cabin near the engines.

It was most noticeable on the commode, seating in front of the mirror putting on makeup(not mine but DW:)) and in the bed..i never ran out of quarters...Our neighbours two doors down experienced the same issue. It was brought to the attention of the Guest Relations manager who brought up the Chief engineer and 2 other engineers who all felt the vibration. The Chief Engineer said he will try to balance the power to the different engines to see if that could be a remedy..well whatever he did magnified the problem at least 5 fold such that the bed vibrated worse than ever...i honestly think this is a new form of torture...i couldn't sleep at all the last 2 nights.

Do not book this cabin if you are at all a bit concerned about sea sickeness even on very very calm seas.

We did receive compensation but the problem is still there and i will avoid booking this cabin again or better yet the Reflection as we've never ever experienced this before.

Celebrity Silhouette

Cabin 9217

Fantastic central location near the elevators. There was some occasional noise from the card room across the hall, but nothing too disturbing. I recommend this cabin.

SHIP: Celebrity Silhouette

CABIN #: 1572

DECK #: 11

CLASS: Aqua

AREA: Mid ship

BED NEAR: Veranda

QUIET?: NO! Crew door directly across the hall, which was well utilized, and carts constantly going overhead, all hours of the night. Sleep with white noise on, and still heard this.

BALCONY VIEW: There is an overhang from above which didnt bother us, and a pole holding that up, also didnt bother us. Directly below a few floors down were lifeboats, so no direct sea view, also no bother.

BALCONY SIZE: Seemed bigger than usual, but we're used to M class ships.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:

I'd read as much as I could about this room, and booked it based on those reviews. However I dont believe they are accurate any longer. This room was the most noisy we've ever stayed in. I'd not stay in it again.

Plus, Bathroom was great, multiple shower heads awesome. Had heated mirror so never fogged up, and heated top towel rack. Along with a nice nightlight. Loved the bed near the balcony instead of next to closet.

"Diffuser" that is included in the room, I thought was a cool mist one like I use at home, but its the bottle of liquid with reeds sticking out of it, no smell we noticed.

Tea that came with room, along with canapes, wine and daily fruit, we asked not to have and we never saw it again.

Has a huge couch, not the little short ones.

Storage above the bed was awesome! Newer flat screen TV was nice too.

Room was great, if was in different location.

Concierge

Mid Ship

Bed near bath

Not quiet

Balcony standard size & view

No wind or soot problems.

Extremely convenient location to everything. Noise is a possible concern from the sliding door on the deck above you, it is audible in the cabin when it opens and closes. You can also hear faint noises from the plumbing in the adjacent bathroom while on the balcony. Your tolerance for sounds will determine if these are issues or not, if you are a light sleeper for instance you might want to move over a few cabins.

We were concerned about the proximity to smokers but it was not an issue in the cabin or on the balcony.

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 1676

DECK #: 16

CLASS: Aqua 1

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: bathroom/entrance door

QUIET?: NO! 9-11pm noise

BALCONY VIEW: excellent view of the aft wake right in the middle

BALCONY SIZE: longer than standard

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The supply closet was catty corner to this cabin door and straight across from the cabin on the left. The stewards and other staff brought all dirty dishes and other noisy objects in and out of here and put on carts in the area causing a lot of noise between 9 and 11 pm every night. This was a problem for trying to go to sleep. Otherwise, this was a dream cabin, so if you like to stay up late, its perfect. Excellent room steward!

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: excellent suite, on private hallway. Well maintained and worth the extra cost. No noise noticeable from jogging track above. Balcony can be windy when in progress, but a minor issue for us compared to the quality of the suite.

  • 2 weeks later...

Was on B2B on Equinox, 1667 first leg, 2155 second leg (because 1667 booked)

Deck - 11

Cabin # - 1667

Class – S2/Sky Suite

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Bath

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Very

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Beautiful aft view

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? No, even though no overhang

Any specific problems with this cabin? None, love this floor, too bad only two S2's on deck 11

Any other comments? No overhang on balcony also means very sunny and warm almost all the time

Deck - 12

Cabin # - 2155

Class – S2/Sky Suite

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Bath

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – NO!! Below Oceanview Cafe, lots of scraping chairs/trolley noise. Had an also noisy aft C1 years before, had been hoping for positive changes, but none have occurred, sadly.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Same beautiful aft view, balcony with overhang so able to stay out longer despite hot sun

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? No

Any specific problems with this cabin? Noise above, also due to a support beam that was hidden in the closet, much less storage space. 1667 was directly below 2155, and in 1667, the drawers to the right of the desk were longer and the shelves in the closet were full shelves not halved as in 2155 due to the support beam.

Any other comments? Obviously 1667 was the better cabin!!

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 9243

DECK #: 9

CLASS: Concierge Class

AREA: Mid-to-Aft

QUIET?: No - but only because of the kids on both sides of us

BALCONY VIEW: At the beginning of the hump, so no forward view; excellent back view

BALCONY SIZE: Larger because of hump, easily fit two chairs, two footstools and a table, with room to move around

WIND A PROBLEM?: not at all

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: No issue, other than with our cabin steward who wasn't quite up to par. Cabin is located five cabins in from the aft elevators and stairs, but noise wasn't an issue and would be convenient for those who don't want a long walk.

Ship: Silhouette

Cabin: 8156

Deck: 8

Class: Balcony

Area: Forward

Bed near: balcony

Quiet: no issue with pax either side nor elevator (right near elevator) but there is some kind of crew area nearby that sounds like people climbing up and down metal stairs. Started early in the morning maybe around 5.30am. We would not pick this location again

View: forward hump. Excellent

Wind: just normal

Soot: no

Location fine as far as access but not for behind the scenes noise.

SHIP: Equinox

CABIN #: 2152

DECK #: 12

CLASS: C1

AREA: Top deck for cabins, Back of the ship (AFT), Center. No one above you peering down into your balcony. Great leg stretch after dinner, but not that far unless you're disabled.

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Minor scraping of chairs from above, but not every night, and not annoying. Slept like a baby.

BALCONY VIEW: First timers will get a kick from the hypnotic wake and taking in one last look at the destination. Low overhead is great shade on hot cruises. Blocks stargazing somewhat.

BALCONY SIZE: Above average. Enough for room service breakfast every day.

WIND A PROBLEM?: Pleasant breeze.

SOOT A PROBLEM?: Not at all. No soot found.

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The heat you'll find in the drawers under the TV comes from the refrigerator, and is great for drying wet money, socks, etc.

Deck - Equinox - 11

Cabin # - 1540

Class – Aqua

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Balcony

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – Most morning at 8:30am they drag something heavy across the floor in the spa above. Other than that its very quiet.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Great View no Obstructions

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal size

Was wind a problem? No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem?

Any specific problems with this cabin?

Any other comments?

Just far enough away from the elevators that there was no noise but close enough to have quick entry to stairs and elevator. Up one floor and close to the spa and gym and down one floor close to the pools.

CABIN #: 2152

DECK #: 12

CLASS: C1

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: NO

BALCONY VIEW: Aft

BALCONY SIZE: 10'X5'8"

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Would avoid this cabin especially in warm weather. Sound of chairs constantly scraping on the deck above (the outdoor seating area of the Oceanview Cafe/Oceanview Bar) particularly in the early morning. All noises and conversations on the deck above can be heard while sitting on the balcony. Absolutely no wind or air movement on this balcony. would be perfect for Alaska.

CLASS: C1

AREA: Aft

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: Very!

BALCONY VIEW: Aft

BALCONY SIZE: standard

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

This was a great cabin! Be aware that it's a long walk to the back of the ship, even from the aft stairs and elevator. This was not a problem for us, but might be if you have mobility issues.

SHIP: Silhouette

CABIN #: 1120

DECK #: 10

CLASS: C2

AREA: MIDSHIPS,

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes but did hear furniture being moved from above (penthouse?)

BALCONY VIEW: Great to rear but can only see fore by standing in corner and peering over

BALCONY SIZE: Very big.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The balcony sells this cabin every time. I did feel the cabin was maybe a little darker though. There is a crew service cupboard by 1122 which we could hear being open and shut a couple of times a day and we also literally bumped into our next door neighbours several times exiting and entering the cabin. Not a problem, just a comment :}

Cat 11

Inside cabin

Bed would have been at balcony if we had one.:D

Found it to be very peaceful only heard neighbours once and a couple of children running up and down once.

Thank goodness we didn't have any problems with soot or wind or we might of been looking for those life jackets.

On the Eclipse 8/13-9/3. Cabin 2146 Sky Suite Cabin is spacious but bathroom is quite small compared to Oceania's PH. Very littl counter space and no separate shower. On deck 12 hot water nonexistent in AM,brr..Balcony is Great with Aft view of wake. Some noise from buffet above but negiable. Overhang keeps us private from peelers from above.DW loves it so it's a winner!

Ship: Equinox

Cabin #: 1591

Deck #: 11

Class: Aqua

Area: Midship

Starboard or Port: Port

Bed near: Bathroom

Quiet?: Room is under pool deck so noise from occasional movement of chairs or teens running around late evening. Otherwise tolerable

Balcony view: Not a clear view due to large overhang. Very difficult to take pictures with metal bars blocking the view

Balcony size: Adequate, not large

Wind a problem?: No

Soot a problem?: No

Problems/comments: Very surprised that Aqua Class rooms were placed on this deck due to obstructive view. Steel beams were all rusty so not pleasant sitting on the balcony and seeing that plus we were unable to take sunrise/sunset pictures as the columns got in the way. Shower was awesome. Loved the jets and the fact that water did not spill over. Storage also a problem as there were very few drawers and no shelving. Pack smartly. Closet difficult to get in and out of as it is located next to bed. Poorly designed room.
