Thanks cherburt...the words will still be there, but the pics will be blocked. Photobucket said it will be within a week.

that is highway robbery to pay 40.00 a month. I don't pay that much for ancestry and it has much more to offer. Again I'm sorry for all the work you put into it.

Wanted to let folks know that the pictures on this review are about to be blocked. Photobucket is not satisfied with $60 from me. They want me to pay $40 PER MONTH to keep the pics up. I'm sorry I ever used their sorry site. I'm sorry I took so much time and effort to post, not knowing they would suddenly start charging crazy rates. There's no way I can (or would) pay that. My apologies to anyone who stumbles upon this once they do it.

Just wanted to say thanks for your lovely review, really enjoyed it & it brought back good memories of our TA :) Regarding the photos, I'm in the same bucket as you so to speak, my photo reviews will be disappearing at the end of 2018, I'm grandfathered in as I was paying $120 a year to subscribe, so I'm switching over to shutterfly for future reviews, or I'll start just using tapatalk & an iPad. The thing is, I love using my good camera. Shame on photobucket & their ransomware tactics.

Anyway, looking forward to your next review :)

Thanks so much for your review. I know how much time and work these take and Photobucket's action is really frustrating. Their new pricing policy is outrageous and I don't think it even makes sense from a business perspective.

Just wanted to say thank you. As a blog writer, I know how much effort goes into reviews be they on CC or on another site. We will be on a similar itinerary in November, so I got some useful ideas for things to do in the new-to-us ports. Like you, we are DIY'ers, preferring to just get off the ship and go wanderin' on our own, and usually, spend our time in a new port exploring where we are rather than going on long distance tours. These ports all look like they will let us do that easily enough.

Lori, what a bummer for you!

I saw a thread about this whole photobucket mess. Many other CCers have already made their future plans.

I can't believe the photos you already HAVE here will disappear! Thank goodness I have already enjoyed them all -- and so have so many of us here. Thank you, and happy sails as you get away from Photobucket.

Thank you! And I totally agree with you that it's highway robbery that I hope NO ONE pays for!

Very sweet of you, thank you! Cruise Critic really needs to come up with a way for us to load our pics directly, imho, or we're at risk for ANY third party site. I am so sorry that you're in the same boat. Especially after forking over $120 a year! Shame shame shame on them!!!

Thank you and I agree that it's outrageous. I also agree that it doesn't make good business sense. You would think a little bit of money would be better than none. Or at the very least, grandfather in the folks who already used them!

I have been reading your review for a couple of days after it was referred to in a different CC post. So glad I found it! Fabulous review and wonderful pictures - they haven't disappeared yet. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this I have enjoyed it so much. I am doing a Baltic cruise next year on Silhouette so this has cranked up the excitement another notch. Hope you are able to do similar reviews of future cruises as it was so entertaining.

Lori, I want to thank you for your great review. I thought I had found a few of the best reviewers here on CC in the few months I have been a member, but one of them mentioned you, and I went searching. So glad I did! Although I can probably never afford the type of experience you had, I felt like I lived it with you. Read all 25 pages today! I loved the food porn, but felt that you had a great balance between ship events, food and places you visited. Thanks again!

(BTW, if you do more reviews, maybe you can put a link to your reviews in your signature!)

Thanks so much for your review Lori. Such a fun read with great pictures. (Photobucket )

This was going to be a brief post with a couple of TA hints. So I'll start there. I've been on 5 TAs, all South Atlantic. (Hi John B!) Our first was eastbound, but the loss of 6 hours was tiring so we switched to westbound. I always (for any cruise) pack a windbreaker that doubles as a rain jacket. For a TA I pack 2 sets of sweats. A chilly day or evening will still find me camped on the balcony with my trusty Kindle.

All of our TAs have been to or from Barcelona. Our last pre-cruise stay there was 5 days. We always stayed walking distance to Las Ramblas. Breakfast at the Boqueria market. So that's the area of the terrorist attack. The loss of lives is heartbreaking. They hurt my city.

Thank you Sue...I can't recommend a TA enough! And a B2B is sure on my bucket list also!

Well thank you misprint! How exciting to have a Baltic cruise to look forward to. That is on my bucket list as well as a lot of other things. I need to keep moving, but pesky work issues keep getting in my way. :loudcry:

I'm happy and amazed that my pics haven't disappeared yet.:D:cool:

Thank you so much for letting me know you enjoyed the review...it really means a lot to get feedback! You are most kind! Don't say never on the affordability factor. I didn't think we could afford a trip like this either, but that's one of the good things about a TA. Most bang for the big-dream-trip buck, imho!

Thank you so much for your kind comments and for your TA tips! I love any and all tips! :D

I join you in feeling heartbreak for Barcelona. What a horrible and senseless tragedy. :(

I enjoyed the review. We are doing this one 11/04/17, this was nice. We are balcony after being Aqua on our last 2 cruises, but that is ok.

Thanks resolute! How exciting that you have this to look forward to. November is not very far off! I hope you're as happy with your simple balcony as we were with ours. I wish I was on it again right now!

Lori,

Thank you for a fabulous review. I love TA's myself, and looking forward to scheduling another. I will be traveling soon on my first Celebrity cruise on the Silhouette so you excellent review gave me great tips! Anything you would add for tips about the ship? What were your favorite lounges/ bars....we have a bev pkg included, so planning on having some comfy places to relax after a busy port day. Thanks again!

Thank you and how exciting that you have a Silhouette cruise to look forward to!! Our favorite bars were the Martini bar and the World Bar. We spent the most time in the Martini bar because they were so friendly and had a nice variety of drinks. It would be quiet earlier in the day, then more crowded and fun later in the evening. The World Bar is small and terrific for specialty drinks. Go early in the cruise because once folks discover it, it can get super crowded. But do know it's not a full-service bar. They do their specialty drinks and that's it. But they are indeed very special! We did try out the other lounges (except for the one that's exclusive to the upper cabins), but never found one with the same kind of friendly as Martini Bar and World Bar. That being said, staff changes all the time, so there's no telling what you'll experience. Try them all and let us know how it goes for you!
