Very sad news. We were looking forward to seeing him again on the Reflection. Our condolences to his family.

Hopefully Cruise Critic or Celebrity will set up a thread on this forum so one can express their condolences and then be passed on to his family.

Captain Bouzakis......you will be missed.

A great man and some I called friend.

Very sad news. We wondered why some changes were being made but didnt expect it to be for this reason.

It is with heavy hearts that we regretfully announce the passing of Captain Apostolos Bouzakis, a great man and beloved member of our Celebrity family.

 

Captain Bouzakis passed away this morning in his home in Greece, surrounded by his wife and two children. As a member of our Celebrity family for 27 years, he was highly admired, respected, and loved by his crew and all who knew him.

 

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends during this difficult time, and to our crew members who sailed or worked closely with him on board Celebrity Reflection.

 

This is a devastating loss, and he will truly be missed.

Heard from staff currently on Millie that Capt. Nick will be arriving in 3 days.

Manuela Becker, Michael's Club Concierge left Summit and is on her way to Refection in Italy.

I read one post saying he is on now and one saying he is on holiday.... we are sailing 18th October 2017, we had him as Captain on Eclipse December 2016 - very visible and great for the children TIA

He is on his normal rotation. However, who knows what will happen since the untimely death of Bouzakis. There might be some shifts.

Thank you. We hope he will be there for our Sept 24th sailing. We have had the pleasure sailing with him a nu.ber of times when he was Staff Captain.

I'm on that cruise and the one before and have confidence that he will be Captain.

So what happened to Captain George? A post on the 18th said he just returned but he's left already???

I wonder if he was ever on board. There was a new Staff Captain that boarded whose first name is George. No one who is on board ever confirmed that Capt. George was on board. One passenger and two crew members communicated the information to me.

If he was on board he simply ended his tour of duty and left. All that matters to me is that Captain Nick is now Master of Millennium.

Arno, Captain Georges Iatrous back to active duties; took over command of Millenium today in Vancouver.

Looking slimmer, a bit paler, but glad ''it's over'' as he said.

This surely says Captain George was onboard.

Got email this morning from Celebrity. Captain Bouzakis died last week while on vacation. He was only 51. He was so young. Sorry if this was already posted in another thread.

Yes such sad news and so young. That's why you should make the most of every hour and every day.

Just off the Eclipse and Captain Leo was the master. As you say he was very visible from attending the Cruise Critic function, attending the "kids" functions, to giving an excellent presentation on the Ships Navigation
