luggage drop off at Southampton

Can you tell me when we arrive at the post are we able to drop our luggage off and head back into town. We arrive at 11am and wanted to get rid of the luggage and go back into town for lunch and to pick up some drinks for the cruise.

Is this possible,if so where do we drop the bags off. Would these then be delivered straight to our cabin or would we need to pick these back up again before check on.

The luggage guys who run the "hole in the wall" scheme start around lunch time, possibly 11.30. If you want to arrive, or do arrive earlier than this the Grand Harbour Hotel is worth looking at. They have a cruise lounge system, open to all not just hotel residents, which is £12 pp non-alcohol rate and they do case stowing from 7am and inclusive quayside transfer through their concierge which is a bit dearer than a taxi at £24 per couple. This was the price I paid might have increased now.

Our Friends left Southampton yesterday on Navigator of the seas and they dropped their cases off before breakfast then went back to the hotel.
