Casino Comp and Upgrades

I was awarded a Princess Cruise by a land-based casino.

The certificate was for an ocean-view room. I upgraded to (and paid for) a mini-suite. At that time (about a month ago now), they were offering a promo that included the drink package if booking a mini-suite or higher, I asked if the drink package would be included since I was upgrading to a mini-suite, but I had no luck. I was told the casino credit was considered a promo and two promos can't be used on the same booking. I was disappointed, but I did not think that was completely unreasonable.

I've also read other posts about transferring reservations to another TA for various incentives. The TA is currently listed as the casino.

As far as trying to wheel and deal, I think the nail in the coffin for me is that the cruise is nonrefundable and paid in full.

But it can't hurt to ask: Does this mean that all the costs/perks are locked in, or are additional strategies available? In regards to the drink package or anything else... Any advice appreciated.

Thank you.

Since it is a special casino rate promotion, that's your deal. You can only change to a new promotion (and give up your former promo and all of its perks) before final payment; after that you are locked in.

In the case of the drink promo, you would have had to compare the value of the drink package vs. the differential cost of booking a mini without the casino rate and pick your poison. Cannot get both deals.

That's pretty much what I figured, but I thought I might as well ask.

Thank you.
