What is special about Cabo?

Usually I would say the whale watching but there won't be any in June. I also think a sailing trip is good. It's nice to be on the water and also sail around the Arches. We also loved a kayaking excursion we did there. We like Solomon's Landing for good food and people watching. If you want to get touristy and a little crazy Cabo Wabo can be fun. Just go to Cabo Wabo with an open mind :):):)

Since you have more time, how about a day trip to Cabo Pulmo? it is a national park and one of the only coral reefs on the west coast of North America. A very beautiful spot. While I have only gone by private car, I am sure you can find a day trip to visit.

Will be on HAL cruise this fall, are there beaches close to the port?

Medano Beach is close by land or water taxi. It's an ok beach. The sand is kind of a rough texture and the beach can be pretty crowded depending on when you go. The other beach is where The arches are. I believe the beach is called Lover's beach. A beautiful setting but it is just beach, no facilities, restaurants, etc.

I don think of Cabo as a beach port.

The food! If you are going to be there for 2 days, I would suggest going to El Farallon for dinner at The Resort at Pedregal. You could also get a driver to take you out to Chileano Bay or Santa Maria Bay and then go to Flora Farms for lunch or dinner. Gardenias is a short stroll from the Medano area and has the best tacos - Cheap! Edith's is always wonderful. Maria Jimenez is excellent and more traditional Mexican food.

Rent a car a drive up to Todos Santos and Cerritos Beach. Los Adobes restaurant has the best Chiles en Nogado. There's a Baja Beans coffee place on the way in or out of TS and the coffee is good and there are mangos all over the ground in the summer season.

Medano Beach is fun to swim and get a fantastic massage at Eden's on the beach by the Arroyo. Coconut shrimp tacos at Omega Water Sports are yummy.

Cabo is a slice of heaven if you explore a bit.
