Breakaway free ferry to St George out of commission

That stinks, but not the end of the world. We were on the Breakaway a week before the NCL ferry and didn't have a problem with the 1 day pass for all the buses and ferries. You're going to have to pay for the buses and Hamilton ferry anyway, so it's a non-issue.

unfortunate, but the bus and ferry is a great way to get around. we always buy the 2 day bus/ferry pass (used to be able to get a 3 day but they wont sell them to you anymore).

The 3 day pass is not sold at the Dockyard, but it is available in Hamilton.

We are on Breakaway Sunday and hoping to use the free ferry to St. George. Does anyone know if this breakdown is a long term repair job and the ferry will not run next week? Thanks

The America's Cup race is over. Hummmm, bet the NCL ferry stays "broke". No problem, 2 day transportation passes worked fine before. We're on the July 30th sailing and will have a great time none the less....

I was on it when it lost it steering. Picture of the tow.

Thanks. Question - isn't this a new ferry designed & built for NCL and paid by ... It broke down during inaugural season - warranty claimed against the shipyard builder ?? Or, is this a refurbished & reconditioned ship with a few fresh coat of shinny paint & freshening ?

They are building two ferries that should be placed in service next year. This ferry was chartered to provide the service this season while the NCL-owned ferries are being built.

Will NCL pay for regular ferry, since it advertised the free ferry?

Where did it advertise the free ferry? As far as I can tell It's not on their website, not on your itinerary, not in your passenger ticket contract.

The free ferry was part of an agreement reached with the government of Bermuda to reduce the strain on the public ferry system.

As others said it was reconditioned. From the paperwork on the boat I believe it was built in Australia in 2008.

When the ferry passenger arrived at the dock NCL personnel took our cabin numbers. I later received a bottle of sparkling wine, some chocolate covered strawberries and credit for some ferry tokens when I presented a receipt.

Other than a notice that the ferry was canceled nothing else was said about the ferry.
