Shore trip in Santo

Recommended Posts

We arrive (Carnival Spirit) in Luganville, Santo on Sat 12th August. Arrival is 8am, dept is 5pm. As luck would have it, the Carnival Explorer is in Luganville on Friday, then Champagne Beach on the 12th.

Assuming we get off the ship by 9am and return before 4:30pm, we have a maximum of 7.5 hours. I'm after any opinions on whether we could fit in Million Dollar Point, Nanda Blue Hole (the Dual Blue Eco Attractions one), and Champagne Beach?

Google has these distances and travel times, but are they about right?

Main Wharf Cruise Terminal to Million $ Point - 6km and 11 minutes

Million $ Point to Nanda Blue Hole - 29km and 40 minutes

Nanda Blue Hole to Champagne Bay - 24km and 37 minutes

Return trip from Champagne Bay to Main Wharf Cruise Terminal - 59km and 1 hour 26 minutes

So roughly we have at least 3 hours travel time according to Google.

At Million $ Point - just have a walk around (no snorkeling) - say 30 minutes

Dual Blue Eco Attractions (Blue Hole) - have swim & coffee) - 1 hour 30 minutes

Champagne Bay - snorkel and lunch - say 1 hour 30 minutes

This totals 3.5 hours site-seeing, plus 3 hours travel time - 6.5 hours : leaves us 1 hour buffer for stuffups/island time.

Are we trying to do too much?

Is it even feasible?

I found one tour operator who does this plus Lonnoc Beach in 8 hours. I've emailed him but no reply - probably already booked out with 2 ships on Santo.

Alternative was when we arrive in Luganville, to try to find a taxi or bus operator to do this. Is that feasible?
