Which excursion company to use in Juneau

We prefer not to book excursions with the ship. What non-cruise ship excursions have you booked for Juneau? Which company did you use?

In Juneau, whale watching is a priority for us --- we have used two independent companies: Harv & Marv and Weather Permitting. If you look at Trip Advisor you will find a lot of positive comments about both companies.

You need to figure out what tours first. THEN you can compare vendors. Take a look at your shore excursion list and narrow down your interests.

We took the bus (blue I think) to Mendenhall Glacier.

We used Juneau Whale Watch. They brought us to Mendenhall glacier after. It is a pretty easy town to get around in. They recommended a great restaurant too. Tracy's Crab Shack. oh my oh my!

We have booked the Taku Lodge 5 Glacier Flightseeing and Salmon Bake.....afterward, we are possibly going to do a whale watch or Mendenhall Glacier. Undecided at this point, but leaning toward Mendenhall

We wanted to go with Harv & Marv, but they were sold out and we were trying 3 months ahead of time. Wound up with Juneau Whale Watch which is a lot less than the cruise ship charges. :cool:

There is no need to book this ahead. You can simply and easily just get walk up for the the first available company leaving.

Well new to this whole thing so I did and actually got 20% off because we were a group of 6+. I'm ok with doing it early that way it's done.

We used Juneau Tours for the Mendenhall Glacier and whale watching. Loved, loved, loved the excursions and the crew.

Harv & Marv. Just got back a few weeks ago. Great communications, prices are fair, outstanding skipper and naturalist, saw tons of whales and wild life. The boat was just right for our group.

Juneau Whale Watch was who we went with for our Whale watch/ glacier tour. Had an awesome time. There were plenty of vendors on the dock when we got off the Eurodam a couple of weeks ago....
