Bear watch in Ivy Strait Point

Has anyone used Brown Bear Lodge for Bear watch? If so what did you think? Also if you can describe what you did on tour. Thank you.

Most tour companies are good in Alaska. Never use tours in Alaska anymore . After watching bears in the Canadian Rockies for years. TripAdvisor gives them good reviews.

We used Hoonah Travel Adventures, not Brown Bear Lodge for our bear Watch Tour. We had an excellent time with hoonah travel Adventures. That being said, Brown Bear Lodge also has a great reputation, and went to the exact same places that we did.

We did see that other tours including ship tours did not go as far into the area as we did. I think you would be happy with either Brown Bear Lodge or Hoonah Travel Adventures.

As for what we did on the tour, our leader, Stu, is an elder with the local tribe, and gave us a lot of information on the history of the area. Once we got to the area for the bear watch, he was in communication with other tours, and we made various stops. We did at three separate times see bears, and I believe we saw a total of about ten Bears, including a mama with three Cubs.

If you do not mind sharing, how much did you pay for the Brown Bear Tour? Also, did you have to take a float plane or was it completely local?
