Water Shoes?

We are heading to Costa Maya the first week of August. We already have chairs reserved at Tropicante. Do I need water shoes or is the beach smooth? I don't even own a pair so I guess I may need to hop on amazon and order quick if I do!

You will definitely need them if you are going to Maya Chan. Bottom is rocky and weedy.

They do have some pairs to loan out, saw them up by the shower and changing room

Maya Chan and Tropicante are "miles" apart. Water shoes aren't needed along the main malecon beaches. Do need flops or sandals for malecon itself though.

Yes, after I re-read the OP , I realized he/she is going to Tropicante, so MC info is not needed .

Maybe the Maya Chan info will help someone else who may have a similar question.
