Puerto Vallarta with little kids

We are sailing on Princess with our 3 and 5 year old daughters in December. What would you recommend doing in Puerto Vallarta?

(FYI: My husband is a little concerned about safety in Mexico so excursions through the ship or safe areas/beaches/pools nearby would be best.)

Thank you in advance!

You will have no problem visiting and traveling in Puerto Vallarta.

Take a local bus or cab to Malecon, the "boardwalk"along the ocean, a large section for pedestrians only. Many shops, restaurants etc. However the beach itself is a bit more south at Playa Los Muertos.

In case you want to have a daypass check Hotel Krystal (walking distance from the cruiseterminal). They have or used to give access to their pool for a small surcharge upon showing your cruisecard. Or take a cab to Hotel mariott - on the other side of the Marina - they charge, but most of that is for drinks and food. Daypasses have been mentioned earlier a few times on this board.
