Manhatten Cruise Terminal and Times Square

We're cruising out of Manhatten on Monday, August 28. We only have Monday morning, but would like to see Times Square and maybe a some other sites. A couple questions:

- How hard is it to take a drive through Times Square?

- Are there any tours that could be done in a morning?

- Is a taxi an option--so show us a few sites?

You can't drive through Times Square. But back up. Are you driving to NYC and parking at the pier?

You can actually walk to Times Square from pier if you wanted to. Times Square is 7th Avenue, pier is 12 Avenue. Walk across 48 Street and you'll be in Times Square vicinity. I don't know how much time you'll have but once you get to the Times Square vicinity you can get a HoHo double decker bus tour. Just stay on for the complete loop.

I would be dropped off near Times Square and then walk around on your own.

Touring in NYC is best done without the encumbrance of a car (with luggage in it?). Parking is almost always a problem. HOHO tours, taxis, subways and busses are more efficient. Perhaps just focus on a few sights .... there are so many. In any case, enjoy.

Keep in mind that it's a weekday, traffic will be heavy, you are better off walking.

Taxi drivers in NYC are not tour guides; the HoHo is your best bet. Times Square is a zoo (http://nypost.com/2017/08/10/4-desnudas-arrested-in-times-square); I live two blocks from it and unless I am headed to a Broadway show east of 7th Avenue avoid it as much as possible.
