Hey there Everyone!

I just booked my annual cruise on Carnival (Sept 16 on Conquest) ..... after trying HAL, NCL, and CCL...

What has changed? Any advice ??

Drink Package/Embarkation/Debarkation/Excursions/Dining/etc ....

I'm reading up on quite a bit, but at the risk of being accused of needing to be 'spoon-fed', I just thought I would ask on here and get the real scoop on the poop that keeps me in the loop!

Any advice or thoughts are welcome and appreciated !!

Thanks In Advance!

I think, for me, the biggest changes are:

1. having to set a check in time for debarkation

2. v2.0 upgrades are great

3. FTTF is available now if you want to take advantage of it

4. No chocolate on your pillow

5. The dining room menu has changed. I like the changes, but some do not.

One piece of advice I can give you is to go with an open mind and to take any non fact-based thing someone tells you on here with a grain of salt. For example, if someone says "the food in the MDR sucks now!", don't go looking for every thing you can point out about the MDR. Be an optimist and try to experience something new, because Carnival has done loads of rebranding and is something new compared to what it was 5 years ago. The Conquest is a beeeeeeeautiful ship, definitely a favorite of mine, and I think that you will enjoy it. Enjoy your cruise! :D

Off the Fantasy this morning. Cruising was very different this time. Our last cruise before this one was on the Valor two years ago. The American Table was just ok- nothing special. Lobster and steak now cost an additional $20. The dining room service was slower. Almost as if the waiters are overloaded with the amount of tables they service. Our cabin service started off rocky. The first day, I asked for ice and morning and evening service. Never received ice, but both morning service the second day. We will compare value for the money when we cruise again.

No, lobster is only extra if you order from the steak house menu.

You must have been on a short cruise. Lobster and filet are now only served on cruises of longer than 6 days on the first elegant night. Better lobster and better steak can be had any evening for the upcharge in the MDR. These are "steakhouse quality" items and are better than those served en masse on elegant night.

Did they have playlist productions on your last cruise on CCL? If not the entertainment will be different but most of the 2.0 upgrades are pretty good.

CCL's strong suit is the Comedians as far as entertainment goes.
