Classiccruiser777 Posted September 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2017 Having been on the Regatta four times, including an Alaska cruise, that review is spot on to what we've experienced. Perfect size ship, great food, service and beds. Love O.
Rare ORV Posted September 21, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 21, 2017 We did the same itinerary, except Wrangell instead of Juneau, two years ago. It was an excellent cruise. We've been on Regatta a bunch of times. Always top notch.
Mystymom Posted September 21, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2017 Thank you for your wonderful review of one of our favorite ships! We also enjoyed a great Alaska cruise in July, round trip Seattle on the Regatta.

Jay23 Posted September 23, 2017 #7 Share Posted September 23, 2017 Thanks for the review. I agree absolutely with you regarding the food in the MDR as opposed to that in the speciality restaurants. We have just disembarked from Nautica and found Polo and Toscana excellent, but the MDR equally as good. We think perhaps Red Ginger and Jacques restaurants would make speciality dining rather more different from the food in the MDR. J
Mura Posted September 23, 2017 #8 Share Posted September 23, 2017 I was most unhappy with the combination of Polo and Toscana into Tuscan Steak, so I prefer the suggestion of Jacques and Red Ginger as the two specialty restaurants on the "R" ships (although we aren't particular fans of RG). The Tuscan Steak menu managed to lose most of our favorites, so if we're on Sirena again I doubt we'd go there ... We also like the GDR on all the ships, largely for the greater variety of options (in that the GDR doesn't have a set menu like the specialties, although menus do tend to repeat every two weeks or so).
