Preziosa & an Iron?

Hi

Setting sail in 3 weeks and need to know if an iron is on board? I know we cant have one in the room or take one with us but do they have a laundry for free at all?

RCL and P&O have laundry rooms - So do MSC?

No laundry rooms or irons available on MSC ships. You have to pay a charge to have items laundered and/or ironed. They do have a laundry package. I haven't seen a recent pricing on this.

Word of Warning, they will take an Iron off you if you try to board with one.

We a a couple of individual items ironed and it was only a couple of £'s.

As soon as I unpack I bag DH's shirts and maybe a blouse or dress for the steward to pick up that evening for ironing. The bill is usually around €15 - €18. For me, it's worth it. You could cut butter with the shirt sleeve crease!

I did bring a travel iron once (before I became aware that it was forbidden!). It was a nightmare trying to iron things on the glass table (which I covered with a folded towel). I'm happy to leave the iron behind and totally accept how much of a fire risk it poses.

Laundry package is quite cheap - I've prepaid for the laundry get 20 items for $37 AUD - you can send items one at a time or all at once. I intend to keep our dressy dinner stuff clean and ironed during the trip.

No laundry rooms on any RCI ship!

Last thing I'd want to do during a cruise is laundry and ironing! So yes, there will be wrinkles and I don't care if anybody notices [emoji23]

Agree totally, Priscila! I've never understood it. If there was an iron available in the cabin then, yes, I'd use it, but, like you, I'm not fussed if some things are wrinkled - so are everyone else's! I send DH's shirts for ironing, though.
