Grand Class on Pulmantur or CDF - any experience?

I have booked one of the 'Royal Suites' (it doesn't look very 'Royal' :)) on the repo in my signature. It comes, as far as I can tell, with free room service for both food and drinks as part of the 'Grand Class' offering. I just wondered if any CC member had any experience of Grand Class and if I need to pay for an all-inclusive drinks package in order to get free drinks on room service.

The ship is CDF but I booked at the Brazilian Pulmantur website so I assume it is the latter's terms and service levels that apply. CDF being a minority non-English-speaking subsiduary of a minority non-English-speaking line (Pulmantur), it really is very hard to find any reliable information on them, especially in English!

Hoping someone can help me out. Thanks in advance.

A minor update, from the UK Pulmantur website, I am led to believe that on CDF, Grand Class is now known as 'Service Luxe'. Here is their summary.

Service Luxe:

On the day of embarkation:

  • Personalised check-in
  • Exclusive counter for customers
  • Priority boarding

In the cabin:

  • Bottle of premium Cava and fruit
  • Lavazza coffee and tea machine
  • Premium toiletries and accessories
  • Dressing gown and slippers
  • Pillow menu
  • Free room service (food/drink)
  • Canapés or sweets every day
  • Free ironing service for Gala Night suits and dresses

Excursions:

  • Administration and private talk
  • Priority gangway access when returning to the ship in each port

On board:

  • Service Luxe Hostess
  • Welcome desk
  • Free internet per cabin during certain times
  • Casino Match Play per day
  • Daily express disembarkation

In the restaurant:

  • Pre-assignment of table in the best area of the main restaurant
  • Booked table in the main restaurant for breakfast
  • Personalised souvenir menu from the Gala Night signed by the chef and captain

Disembarkation:

  • Priority and assistance during disembarkation
  • Personalised disembarkation letter

Still, there is nothing like first hand experience to make sense of all this! Anyone?

After 250 views and no replies I will take that as a "no".

I am looking forward to sharing my experience of Pullmantur Grand Class/CDF Service Luxe here on CC.

Just short of a year to go....

Hello

We travelled Grand Class with Pullmantur on Sovereign from Valencia, Spain 18 months ago.

It was a great experience, we had Priority Check in and Boarding, while we were checking in we were given a glass of champers and then escorted to the boat.

Stateroom was very nice and very modern coffee machine.

We did not feel we got the best table in the dining room so we had a word with the Suite Representative and was immediately offered a really lovely table in a wonderful position.

We ate in the main dining room on a few lunch times and were told as Grand Class passengers we were to bypass any queues, and were immediately seated.

All drinks are included for all passengers on European and transatlantic trips.

Not sure if they are when the boat is in Brazil or the Panama area.

We were so impressed that we have booked the transatlantic trip from Colon Panama to Lisbon next May.

We originally booked a Grand Suite which includes everything including Free Drinks, within 2 weeks of booking we received a telephone call from the company offering us a free upgrade to a De-luxe suite which is very large only 1 down from the top Queens Suite.

We are really looking forward to the trip.

If you would like any further information, please ask and I will endeavour to give you the answers.

What drinks are included for all passengers? Rail drinks, call drinks, premium drinks? I drink mostly gin & tonics at home and with dinner. Are Beefeater, Tanqueray, Tanqueray Ten, Hendrick's included? Any specialty tonics, or just whatever HFCS mix is in the gun? How about specialty drinks? Is there a good selection of tap beers and wine by the glass? And are specialty coffees, smoothies, fresh-squeezed juice, etc. included?

Thank you for any answers you have! I am very interested in booking a cruise with one of the european lines this spring, but it really depends on what the drinks situation is, and it is hard to find information here in the States.

I booked one of the Royal Suites on Zenith for April 2017 and just paid, the extra $10 pp/day for the upgraded/best beverage package.
Have booked Horizon for late March 2018 and have been informed that the TOTAL drinks package is included with the following cabin grades Superior and Royal suites. From what i have gleaned from the internet this package pretty much includes every and all drinks on board.
