Pacific Eden in Drydock, Singapore

Recommended Posts

I noticed awhile ago there was a gap in her cruises (with her in Singapore between 29th July and 10 Aug). I didn't think she was scheduled for a makeover yet but when sailing on her in March the airconditioning was non existent at times and there were other problems with a terrible smell of engine fumes in passageways on deck 6 and men working till late at night. Passengers were complaining of the noise. Hopefully it is to fix these problems.

Perhaps she will go there tomorrow.

There are still a few of the smaller cruise ships including Eden which depart from the old cruise terminal at Harbourfront. I don't think P&O Australia have much bargaining power in Singapore.

You are probably right, There are bigger cruise line companies with much deeper pockets

I think Star Cruises still use it as a base for their fleet .

The small Australian based P&O ships only get to Singapore for a very short season often in conjunction with a fortnight in dry dock for refurbishment. They get shunted to the old terminal so that the larger ships of other lines can use the open water access of the new terminal at Marina Bay. Personally I like the old terminal at Harbourfront which offers plenty of nearby attractions if there is a delay in boarding.
