In Lima, afternoon of the 1st day. Currently in Miraflores.

Yes, we had good weather for Panama, and we were some time in Miraflores Locks. The night departure from there was good, as was seeing the empty lock under maintenance.

Panama City skyline was impressive at night.

Enjoyed Cartagena, but was hot there.

Manta tour was interesting and still many signs of last years big earthquake.

Full day here tomorrow, then on Friday a Pisco tour for our short day there.

Enjoying our Sea Princess time.

Lima dock is not a pretty one, reminds me of many others around the world and just like Brisbane's grain terminal, commercial with nothing nearby.

I wonder if they still have that big "craft market" in one of the sheds on the wharf.

That was excellent. We bought the best souvenirs ever from there.

All local craft, ( ie - nothing made in China;p).

We were there earlier this year and were disappointed that the wharf we were at had only half a dozen temporary stalls - not like the great craft market at another area of the docks.

I suppose it just depends on which dock they have you at then.

I had a look at Marine Traffic AIS as to where she was docked. It looks from the satellite shot that a lot of the old sheds have gone to make way for containers.

Latest update from the Captain. Departure from Lima is now 6am on Saturday. We are now planned to arrive at Easter Island on Thursday. We will be skipping the sail around Pitcan Island.

It is a pity you will miss the sail around Pitcairn. The locals don't have many opportunities to make money, but they do very well when ships call by.

Thats a real shame. Pitcairn is a bucket list item and one thats rather hard and expensive to do on ones own.

I was reading last week of some tourists who went there. They had to fly to Tahiti and then sail on the trading boat that visits the Island once a week . Out of the 12 that went only 2 could witness the arrival at Pitcairn as the others were too seasick.

When we called , the Islanders came aboard but had to pack up hurriedly and leave at noon as a storm was brewing. Later we heard it took them 24 hours to get ashore in their longboat. Its a rugged life out there.

Someone said on this year's WC that Princess ships are not allowing the locals on board any more... not sure how true that is.

Tendering was slow due to limited docking facilities. We had a great day touring the Island and the different sites. Well done to the Captain and crew for making it all happen. Now we have 5 sea day's before Tahitti.

Thanks for the update. Glad you got ashore and enjoyed Easter Island. Yes tendering can be slow there. The boat harbour is more like a large rock pool ,but its serves the purpose.
