You can leave anytime you want to. It is not like an ocean cruise where you wait for permission.

Our flights home are generally around 8am and we leave the ship around 5am.

Budapest airport was a 30 minute drive from where AMA docked and there was no traffic that early.:)

Thank you so much. We booked an 11:15 flight out on a Wednesday. Also thank you for the time it takes to get to the airport. I suspect it will take a little longer because we would be leaving the ship around rush hour.

Do you have the name of a good transfer company?

The staff on the boat can arrange a taxi for you if you wish.

If you prefer to book your own transfer, we have used Alajos Pulai in the past. Very pleased with the service.

Ditto to what Caviargal posted. In 2015 we were bussed to the Budapest airport from the Ama Prima. It took about 35 minutes, door to door with luggage.
