Is there buses or taxis in St. Maarten

Plenty of taxis. There is a large, very busy taxi stand with posted signs showing the fares to all the most common destinations (fares are pre-set, no running meters). We usually take a taxi over to Marigot on the French side. I want to say we last paid around $20.00 each way?

The buses on St.Martin are very good and run about every 5 minutes. You need to walk out the terminal to the main street, about 2 blocks. The buses are either $1 or $2 depending how far you are going. They are standard looking vans. The license plates say taxi.

The bus fare is, indeed, $1 or $2, but;

The buses run on Backstreet, the one past Frontstreet. It is about 20 minutes from the Cruise Facility main gate.

The buses are not on a schedule and may run in a group of 2 or 3, or it may be 20 minutes.

They are vans, but the plate won't say TAXI, that would be a taxi. If it is a bus the plate will say BUS 123 or such.
