Earliest disembarkation in Civitavecchia?

For those who have disembarked here, wondering how early you could get off the ship? I have a choice of two transfer times to our airport hotel: 8 am or 9:30 am. We have early flights out the next day, so our plan is to drop the luggage at the hotel and take the train into Rome for one day of sightseeing. I'd like that day to be as long as possible, but I don't know if being off the ship with luggage by 8 am is a reasonable expectation? We can take our own luggage off if that's an option.

What time are you scheduled to dock? What is your previous port (customs related query)?

Sorry, didn't realize i'd left that out. Scheduled to dock at 6 am. Coming from Sorrento.

8 AM should be no problem. You can easily self disembark (carry your luggage off) at 7 AM or possibly earlier. They want everyone off the ship by 9 AM.

We were off the Quest in Civitavecchia a couple of weeks ago at 0800 and our luggage was already in the terminal. Unloading starts early, accompanied by much shouting and banging...it's Italy after all and conversations are always very animated.
