Long Beach Car Rentals

Has anyone ever just rented a car from their home town one way to Long Beach and then picked up a second rental going home?

I'm thinking this might be cheaper and easier than parking some where for a week. Did it work for you? Thoughts?

There are no rentals right at the pier so you'd have to get driven from the rental place to the dock and back.

There are several hotels that have stay n park rates which make driving your own car and staying over 1 night before the cruise quite easy!

Mom's done this. She lives in NW LA County.

Enterprise and Avis have offices on Ocean. Can take a cab or the free Passport bus to the dock from either location.

We won't be in Long Beach the night before. Maybe Barstow, maybe San Diego. But not driving all the way to Long Beach after work on a Friday.
