While we have cruised the Mexican Riviera before it's my first time visiting Manzanillo.

What's it like ? Is there anything around the cruise ship pier?

Beaches/things to see or do?

We are a family of 4 2 boys 7&9

We were underwhelmed with Manzanillo. It is an industrial type port. It is nothing like we ever imagined. We took an excursion to a very nice hotel beach resort, but it was far away, hardly a "beach" and then we were informed that the restaurant where we were to eat wouldn't open until one pm. Well, we had to leave by 1:30.

$89 pp for that Princess excursion, but I digress.

We should have gone to a beach instead of the resorts. The drive out to the hotel was just so far ... I wish I cold say something better, because I love Mexico and have been to many places there over the last 30 years, but Manzanillo definitely rates at the very bottom of my list. [emoji50] basically, if I am ever on a ship which calls at this port again, I will stay on board.

We did a Tour that I found on Tripadvisor that took us to a Turtle Farm and we Released Baby Turtles on The Beach, Then took a Boat Tour in the Mangroves and lastly they took us to a Village on The Ocean and we had a Marvelous Lunch. Glad we did this as there is not a lot to see or do in Town.

Could just walk around. Behind the Huge Hill behind the port building is the market area. Lots of food and shops. Try the coconut ice cream sold out of the street carts.
