Lcruiser5356 Posted May 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2017 We are going on a Princess Cruise February 2018 - Santiago - Buenos Aires. We will be arriving 2 days early in Santiago. Know nothing about the city. Does anyone have suggestions of things to see? Any must sees in any of the other ports?
DickieD Posted May 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2017 Make reservations for two nights in Valparaiso for the nights before your cruise. Then contact Michael, The German Pirate, who is an outstanding guide to show you around Santiago and Valparaiso. He will pick you up on your arrival at the airport and show you all around. Tell him your interests and your tour will be tailored. He is a wonderful guide that knows everyone. This will be a highlight of you trip. Rare Scrapnana Posted May 13, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 13, 2017 Welcome to Cruise Critic! You might also want to join the roll call for your cruise. Find the name of your ship here and then find the date of your sailing. It is great to get to know some of your fellow cruisers in advance. moviefan2010 Posted May 19, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 19, 2017 Stay in Valparaiso instead of Santiago since it is a much prettier city. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Traveling Library Posted May 19, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 19, 2017 We liked Santiago. Take the funicular from the municipal park to the Cerro San Cristobal. Walk through the city market. Santiago has a Ho-Ho. It was chartered the day we were in Santiago so we took the map and walked a goodly amount of the route. We found the city very lively and attractive. The city has a nice vibe. 4774Papa Posted May 22, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 22, 2017 We liked Santiago and found that there is more to see than Valpariasio (you can see Valpo in one day).
