Area on Fantasy to play games?

Recommended Posts

There is no library on the Fantasy. There used to be one on the Magic and Wonder long ago (1998), but they realized that this space could be used for things that generated income, so the library was removed.

The game area is in O'Gill's, the sports bar. This is open to families during the day and becomes "adult only" at 9pm. There are some games available (ask the bar staff if you don't see them). But if you are looking for others to play with, that rarely happens. Not sure why...perhaps because people look for things to do on the ship that they can't do at home.

Look for the times they play Disney trivia or 80s theme song trivia. That's always fun to play as a family. Kids can also play bingo with you as long as you claim the prize if they win.

I only just learned they play bingo. I am sure this will be something we all will enjoy doing together. Hope it's not too terribly expensive. Cheaper then a casino though!!!

It is expensive, but that doesn't seem to stop many people. Guess it depends on what you compare it to.

Guess it's cheaper then a casino right?

Also a little more legal, since it's a regulated activity at a regulated time and price, and doesn't let guests run the risk of blowing their own roll at their own pace at the roulette table.

On the Wonder, the set of tables just along the corridor outside of the Promenade Lounge weren't officially appointed game areas, but were frequent wired common-areas for any families who needed a table for writing or tablet-ing.

There are plenty of places around the ship to sit and entertain yourself with whatever quiet pursuits you choose. Most are in family areas; some are in adult only locations. There are plenty of scheduled family and adult only game/trivia type activities in various locations. There is one nightclub area on each ship that has a collection of board games and cards available as well as multiple TV screens usually showing sports (to get what you want, talk to the bartender....majority rules on the TVs.) This used to be called "Diversions" on the Magic, which seemed quite suitable. However, it was changed to "O'Gills" at the dry dock to match the newer ships. Bingo is announced daily in the Navigator, and if you attend one session they will make you well aware of when other sessions will occur.

There really was not a need to play cards. Always something to do!

Even so, if you're on your first cruise, you want to spend one of your Days at Sea feeling like you're one of those "stuck" two-week Transatlantic cruises from the old 30's movies, where average folk sat out in deck chairs reading books.

Disney wanted their cruise ships to have an "old-fashioned" atmosphere on the outside, and on the ground-floor outside Deck 4 loop, the ship has a very classic 30's look of wooden floors and scenic railings--

Our Day at Sea was the last full day of the 4-day, after three busy stops, and I could see some of my dining-mates taking the time for an old-school deckchair book-time, as I tried to figure out the rules to Shuffleboard.

I see you already cruised, but for future reference, all the kids clubs (club, lab, edge and vibe) also all have a stash of games:cards, uno, bananagrams, spot it, guess, who, connect 4 and many more and are free for anyone to use during open house times.

Especially on prt days, open house times are extensive and you'd be one of the few in them.
