Where to buy wine in San Juan before Royal Caribbean Cruise?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

We were hoping to buy a bottle of champagne before cruise departs in San Juan. Any recommendations ?

Thanks, Mary & Dan

Welcome to CC. Not sure where you're staying. We usually stay at the Embassy Suites or Hampton Inn. Both are within walking distance of the Pueblo market. Also there is a duty free shop in the cruise terminal to your left after you clear security. You are allowed to bring two bottles of wine or champagne per stateroom.

Some lines do not care how many bottles you bring on board, and some do not allow you to bring any.

That may be so, but the OP is cruising RCI. So my comment is applicable.

and how do you glean that knowledge from OP's post? Please don't suggest from a signature because those are not part of a psot and most of them have them turned off.

Why don't you read the title to the OPs thread. Here, I'll save you the time. "Where to buy wine in San Juan before Royal Caribbean Cruise"?

If you are staying down in Old San Juan, and you do not mind cheap sparking wine, there is a Walgreens adjacent to the Sheraton OSJ and a CVS a block down the street.

For something higher quality, go to the Ports of Call forum and go to the San Juan thread. Do a search - I know there was a mention awhile back (within the past year) about a liquor store in OSJ.

There's a CVS pharmacy drug store right by the cruise terminal in old San Juan. Most CVS's have a pretty big liquor/wine section, but this particular CVS has a HUGE wine section because it's located next to the cruise terminal. I'm sure they'll have whatever you're looking for.
