Galveston Hotels?

Any suggestions on where to stay the night before our September cruise?

We're staying at the Four Points by Sheraton on the seawall. It doesn't have the greatest reviews, but the price was right and it was one of the only hotels not booked for the night before our cruise a year out :o

We have stayed at the Galvez and Hilton a number of times and always had a great experience. :)

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express on the Sea Wall. We are also going on a cruise in September and we booked in March so it maybe sold out by now....

We have stayed at Hilton and San Luis both excellent hotels but normally require 2 night stay, on trip last month we booked Moody Gardens which looked really nice , but canceled since flight had been delayed till next day and even though then have policy that you can not cancel unless its 48 hours before, we were not charged penalty since it was a airline issue, for that reason I would book this again

We like to stay at Tremont House. Its on the Strand downtown. Beautiful old hotel. We pay $17.00 for valet parking and that covers parking for the cruise in covered parking garage at the Galvez plus shuttle service to and from the terminal. Its very hard to get a room.

Room $125.00

w/tax $144

$17.00 valet

Total $161.

In April we left the room at 9:30 am and was on the Valor at 11:50

If you need a place to leave your car with a shuttle to the ship, Inn At The Waterpark has good prices. Im fairly local and stay with them when I just want to go down early.

The Hilton on Seawall is nice. Has nice restaurants and a store in walking distance. They have a shuttle to the port as well.

Staying at Four Points since I get SPG points. It was the one that looked the best to us.

We are also staying at the Four Points for our September cruise- great option for SPG points :)
