What was your upgrade offer and what did you bid

Cruise is Sunday on the Breakaway. Have multiple bids in on haven rooms. Still listed as pending and able to "review my bid". But the cruise is removed entirely from the website.

Safe to assume the cruise is full and these bids are pointless since no rooms available?

I've read that if you see pending, it means you won and will be notified soon!

Wow! What was the timeline on your bidding? Did you submit your bid just a few days before sailing?

One week before sailing. We bid the minute my husband saw the invitation. First time on NCL. We are happy.

We're experienced cruisers, but this is our first time on NCL. We just got an upgrade email for our Sept sailing. They allowed us to bid on everything above what we booked, up to the giant 3 bedroom suite in The Haven. When we look online, it says The Haven is sold out. We are past the payment date, so why would they let us bid on sold out cabins? Appreciate any info you can share. Thanks!

For NCL's own benefit.

NCL does learn a little from every bid.

I received an upgrade email for both of my reservations (kids in separate cabin next door, ages 25 & 16). Would love to bid but it clearly states that there is no guarantee both cabins will be located nearby each other. Don't want to risk being on opposite end of the ship from kids but has anyone tried this process with 2 cabins? I kinda feel that this process doesn't really apply to families!

Here's a suggestion (and it depends upon what ship and what upgrade offers you received): if you can bid on the HAVEN 2 bedroom suite (or the 3 bedroom villa), just put in a bid for one of your cabins. If you receive it, then all 4 of you can go to the HAVEN and leave the 2nd cabin open (because you only have to pay for the 1st 2 on upgrade bids and there would only be 2 of you for that cabin, anyway). (Of course this depends if your 25 and 16 yo can sleep together if you get the 2 bedroom--but if they can't you still have the original cabin available.) You have to decide if the bid is worth it, since you will have paid for the 2 current staterooms, plus the additional you would pay if your bid is accepted and you get the upgrade. I believe I have seen this tactic in earlier posts (I'm not that original) and I haven't seen where this is forbidden. If the ship has the HAVEN restaurant, you might want to call customer service to ensure that all 4 of you could participate (and I wouldn't take the first "no" as a final answer.)

Just because something is sold out NOW doesn't mean that something might open up later. NCL accepts these bids so that if someone cancelled, they would have bids in place ready to go and they wouldn't be scrambling to find someone last minute.

Yes Got my bid accepted to upgrade from H5 to H4 2 bedroom family villa. I am so excited for the extra space for 3 people. We leave Saturday on the Escape and just received the fantastic email.

Was the category showing sold out during the bidding process? I'm hoping I have a shot What range was your bid, if you don't mind

AS the title says : "What did you bid?"

People are winning bids every week and would be great to get a general idea of what folks are getting. Sure, every week and category is different, but... a general idea would be great.

Has anyone experienced what the upgrade does to your Travel Insurance? I am currently in an inside cabin for a cruise in 2 weeks and would really like to upgrade to a balcony however I'm not real sure how much my insurance will go up. My booking is through the casino and my wife and my fare was free. We paid for my son and fees and taxes. Insurance was just 29 pp for my wife and I so I took it. 99 for my son. I based my bid based on the fee range for travel insurance to minimize it. But that is one big unknown.

I bid 240pp for balcony.

I was in a spa suite and noticed that the upgrade price to an H9 Haven spa suite was only $1300, and the minimum bid for me to bid was $750 per person. It was cheaper to just pay the $1300 and I get all the full Haven promos too.. and since I booked my original cruise prior to the recent change about UBP and UDP surcharge no longer being included with the Haven, I didn’t have to pay the fees either. Might want to check if your reservations are similar.

I just got my upgrade invite and could use some help (clarification).

If I enter a bid of $400 for 2 persons to upgrade is this for the full 7 days of the cruise? Or will NCL multiply this amount by 7 because it's per person per day, and charge my credit card $2800?

Want to try it...afraid it will be more than I had intended!
