Vibe Beach Club on the Escape...is it that competitive?

Recommended Posts

If you have a spa pkg. is it necessary to have the vibe, or just as satifying to go to the H2O ?

It depends on what a person wants. Since Spa, VIBE, Spice H2O, and Haven are all different, there's nothing wrong with utilizing all of them. Even someone with VIBE access might want to spend some time in Spice (less windy back there, usually more action, etc.) and then swing by the Spa for a few minutes, stop by VIBE for a quick drink in the sun, then take a nap in the shade in the Haven courtyard.

There's nothing wrong with any or all of those things.

And then there would be a mad rush to purchase it for only on the sea days....NCL sells it out now @ 99.00 for the week, what would you propose they sell it for per day to make additional profit?

Not that I, or I doubt you, work for NCL and should be worried about NCL making profit on Vibe passes....

BUT...

I would propose a $25 / Day pass good for that day only. They could still sell 70-80 passes for the day - By my math that would actually work out to an additional $75 of PROFIT per week per slot - 75 slots would actually be an ADDITIONAL $5500! Sounds like a Win Win to me.

(Now they may not sell out all 75 slots everyday, I understand, but I still think they would come out ahead - And more importantly, those who want to get a chance to enjoy the quiet under an umbrella at least once during a week-long cruise have a very good chance.)

ASSuming that all the day passes sell out and you are NOT factoring in the additional costs (human and dollars) in administering all of those day passes.

Plus if by chance those 65-75 people who bought the weekly passes ALL decided to stay on the ship port days. Wouldn't make for a good situation as the Vibe would be overcrowded.

Remote chance that would happen , but it's possible.

You do realize that NCL used to sell day passes to Vibe on Breakaway, right? Been there done that.

Other than shorter bar lines and a smaller group, is there any other major benefit to vibe vs h2o? Traveling Nov 25th with my parents (dad is super impatient) and sister. It's m dad's birthday trip as well.

We were just on the Escape last week. We did not get Vibe passes but I never experienced the problems getting a drink that I have heard from many people. We were always able to get loungers in Spice H20.

The funny thing was, I looked into Vibe several times during both sea days and it was empty so I don't know why everyone bought up the passes and then didn't use them.

You're guaranteed to get a lounger. The lounger is also under an umbrella if so desired. Said lounger is also padded and covered in terrycloth. None of these three things are for certain in Spice H2O and the third is impossible since they only have the normal generic loungers that are prevalent all over the ship except in Vibe and the Haven. There is also a camaraderie that develops between those that decide to utilize their membership privilege. And of course, fruit skewers, fruited iced water, warm baked cookies. And shot o'clock.

Restrooms very close.

Plenty of towels

You can get a seat at the bar and have a great time meeting others.

Minimal waiting for drinks.

Rommel ( Bartender) is fantastic .

On my cruise in October 2016, DH and I planned on arriving early for passes after reading the boards here. Well we had a few small disasters and didn't get to port until 10:30, Group 7. Still, we made our way straight to Headliners and obtained passes, no problem. There were a good 20-25 left (we could see the stack of envelopes they were taking from).

To answer someone else's question, yes, all parties must be present to purchase.

And private hot tub (and misters) :p

They don't enforce these times whatsoever... You can arrive as early as you like, but security will not start letting people through until about 10:00 am. They do, however start letting people to wait inside the building around 9:00, and the first ones in are the first ones through security, and have the greatest chance for boarding group 1...

So if your check in was 10.30 is there no point arriving earlier?

Exactly , although last Oct. security opened at 9:30 for our Sailing.

What is a shot o'clock ?

Bartenders will make up shots for all who wish to join in.

They have their specialty ones, but will make one that "you" suggest if they have the ingredients.

We have a strawberry 🍓 one that is popular at an island on Lake Erie. They were able to get me 2 containers that I hollowed out ( said it would take too much time for bartenders to do) . They poured the alcohol in them and topped the berries off with whipped cream.

Rommel does a great job.

It’s supposed to be everyone present. I think it depends how many in the line. There were 4 of us stood waiting and one guy got 4 by himself. Others told us later on there was a long line and they were announcing that if your party wasn’t there they couldn’t have one and also pulling forward platinum plus and platinum.

We were on the Escape last week. We did the “vibe club amazing race”

Here’s how we did it:

Our “scheduled” boarding time was 1130....we totally disregarded that and arrived at the port terminal at 9 am. There were probably 20 passengers already there. There were several families so I thought they were probably not running for the vibe passes since it’s adults only.

We did our check in and were able to get into boarding group 1. I asked the security guard to show me where boarding would begin and I parked myself there, first in line to board the ship. I boarded at 1115 Andy immediately went To Headliners (one floor done when you board the ship). We got numbers 23 and 24. Appparently a lot of Haven guests and lattitudes preferred guest scooped up 1 to 22. By the time they called group 3 all the passes were sold.

We had a great time in the Vibe. The same 20 people were there most days and it was a fun group. The Vibe has really wonderful service..they check your credentials on the first day and will know your name after that. It was very windy a few days but fortunately they never had to close the bar. There is NO MUSIC whatsoever and they do not allow passengers to play music. It is a generally very quiet area until 4ish in the afternoon when the shots start getting poured...then it’s more of a happy hour vibe. A few times other passengers tried to sneak in and they were immediately escorted out. Security is strict in the vibe.

We have been on Escape before and didn’t get the vibe pass and we were quite happy....this time with 2000 kids onboard we were thrilled to have the vibe!
