Overnight Parking in Kahului, Maui ... NCL

Will be on the NCL (POA) in July. What is the situation like for overnight parking of rental cars? Any recommendations on which car rental company to use or to NOT use?

We have always used Thrifty, booked through Discount Hawaii Car Rentals, and had a good experience. Join Thrifty's loyalty membership. I see in the Alamo Car Rental Maui thread below, reports from May and June that they have apparently lost their permit to send a shuttle inside the port, so you may want to avoid them, or else plan on using a taxi or Uber to get to the àirport. It was noted that this shuttle was for Alamo/National, so you might want to avoid National as well.

You can probably find a lot of good info on the parking situation, and car rentals in general, by reading down this board and looking at threads with car rental or overnight parking in the titles. This subject comes up regularly here. The most recent info re Maui overnight parking are strong recommendations not to park at the mall, due to a no parking and tow policy there. Best advice is to park at the airport, very near the rental office and walk to the shuttle back to the ship.

Will be on POA in July as well. Very undecided about getting a taxi or uber at 1:00 am to get to airport to retrieve rental car and drive to Haleakala. Anyone have any experience with this time schedule. If so, is transportation available at that time of the morning? I appreciate any input.
