14-Day Canada New England from Montreal - What happens in Boston?

We are taking a 14 day Canada New England cruise on HAL 's Maasdam round trip from Montreal in August 2017. I suspect some people will only be taking it for the seven day option, and in that case is there any special information we should know about Boston? Is everyone expected to be off the ship for a certain length of time? And, is disembarking, and then returning to the ship, chaos for those on the 14 day option?

We just did the 14 day option. The ship issues a transit card for those staying on. You can either stay on the ship or treat Boston as another port.

We got off and took Uber to the JFK Library and Museum. Was really a great idea. They have a special exhibit honoring his 100th year. The HOHO bus is great and stops at most historical sights in Boston. We enjoyed eating in the Northend.

You will enjoy both cruises. They are vastly different. Canada had free admission this year to their parks as well as Annie of Green Gables.

We didn't have to repeat the drill[emoji1]

Thanks so much for the great reply! Just wanted to make sure we'll have time in Boston because we only see it once. Planning on the HOHO bus ( booking directly with the company online probably ).

When you return to the ship do you have to join the crowds boarding for the first time?

BTW... How many formal nights on the 14 Day cruise?

When reboarding, you have to go through security. Tell the 'line monitors' you are in transit and they will direct you to the much shorter entrance to security. After security you just reboard the ship.

When you return to the ship for reboarding, you will show your in transit card when you enter the terminal and will not have to stand in gthe check in line for those starting their cruise in Boston. you will clear security and reboard, asuming the ship is ready fofr boarrding to begin..
