Thifty Car Rental Miami Airport

Recommended Posts

Tried looking over internet and this forum. Conflicting answers to this question .

Does Thrifty Car Rental offer a FREE shuttle to and from POM. I'm looking to rent a car pre and post cruise for the first time.

I'm looking for an answer from someone that has recently used the service if available.

Contacted other car rentals In MIA and they told me that a shuttle service is not available to POM from airport.

Thank you in advance.

Alamo/National (same company) has a large rental center for MIA that has shuttles from/to MIA and POM. Free to customers.

Got this email from National yesterday:

I appreciate your email. I regret to inform you that we do not provide a shuttle service to and from the Miami Port. However, the airport may provide this option but you would need to reach out to them directly regarding this information.

POM is very close to MIA (10.2 miles or a 20 minute drive.) Use a hotel shuttle to get to your hotel. Use Uber to get to the airport after your cruise for a car rental.

In regards to the car rental, there is an Alamo at the Intercontinental hotel - which is a great place to stay before your cruise. Or you might stay at the EPIC which is right next to the Intercontinental. But make sure you actually need a car as hotel parking in Miami is often $40 or more. Also, if you were going to stay on Miami Beach, say at the Fountainbleu, a car would be more of a hindrance than an asset as public transportation can get you anywhere you need to go on Miami Beach or you can just walk and the hotel parking lots are often full where you can't park there.

The EPIC has a great sushi restaurant that you have to make a reservation for, but it is totally worth it: Zuma

So you might eat there your first night. It's a bit of a hot spot and the food is amazing. They have a banana dessert that is among the best desserts we've had anywhere.

Trulucks is another famous restaurant: https://trulucks.com/locations/miami-florida/

Just a quick cab ride away.

If this were in your signature, I wouldn't be able to see it. There are quite a number of us that block signatures so posts don't take as much screen space.
