Hi afeiner31......I brought sandwiches from the ship that I ordered through room service. The rest of the snacks I had brought from home which was part of my plan so I would not have to worry about stopping anywhere and purchasing them;)

Just so you know, it's illegal to take food off the ship unless it is prepackaged in the manufacturers packaging. (like granola bars, chips etc.). You can't even take off opened bottles of water or soda, and especially not fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, cheese or dairy. I know some people get past customs, but it IS illegal.

scubagirrl....I did not have any fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese or dairy.....thank you for that info;)

Customs...we didn't get stopped at any point getting off the ship or going through the gates? Yes, it probably happens but I'm saying it didn't happen with us. My drinks and snacks were all sealed except for the sandwiches, which I put in baggies.

Bagged sandwiches are illegal.

Glad to know you had a good experience. Ours was not as delightful. When we arrived at Comfort Inn and Suites, we were told that their computer was down and they could not issue us a pink card. Instead, the tour desk in the lobby offered to sell us an Atlantis package that included lunch for about $160 each--considerably more than we had planned to spend on the room per person. Instead, we went on to Atlantis and bought their day pass. It was a disappointing way to begin our day in Nassau to say the least. Furthermore, Choice Hotels was very unsatisfactory in addressing our complaint after we returned home.

For anyone with any concerns from that last post, we did this yesterday with no problems whatsoever. We checked in and checked out at the same time like the original poster. Their only comment was to ask us to stay with them if we came back. The total cost for us was about $430 for 4 of us (2 adults, 15 and 11 yo kids).

One additional comment...our driver did not wait for us and it is a looong walk from the comfort suites to the beach tower where you check in and then to the water park so be prepared. Other than that, we had a great time. One of the main rides went down just after lunch but we were leaving not long after that anyway so it was no big deal. It was crowded but the lines were not bad.

The cost was $300 for 1 night....they charge for each additional adult in the room with a max of 4 per room. If you have per say 5 Adults, you would need to rent 2 rooms. There is not a minimum night stay. I only got the room for 1 night.

It's a great price as compared to the usual cruise line Atlantis excursion price for three adults, but it seems a bit high for Comfort Suites. I was seeing prices at around $175/night on online travel sites for up to 2 people, and that's what I paid last November. Could be seasonal variation, though.

We paid $4 per person for the taxi. The band they give you covers all parts of Atlantis, the water park, the dig (aquarium) the reef, the beaches, pools etc.....you do have to pay for lockers (credit cards only) and you can take coolers into the water park....they do not check them. I know because I had one with food & drinks & they did not check it. They provide huge beach towels that anyone inside the water park can use for free as well.:)

Just about the only areas not covered are Dolphin Cay (although you can walk up to the fence and look around), the Cove and Reef pools, and the Mandala Spa.

I'm surprised they let you bring in a cooler, since food prices at Atlantis are infamously, legendarily high. (Breakfast buffet $28/pp, dinner buffet 56/pp. :o )

I might try bringing in a cooler when I visit again in November for three nights at the CS.

Since you entered Atlantis from the beach, as opposed to walking through the casino, I'm wondering if they don't check as closely for coolers and contents there.

FWIW, after we picked up our armbands, we never had anyone ask to see them. And at no point did anyone ask to check our bags. After we got the armbands in the beach tower, we walked along the beach to the water park area but then walked into the Royal Tower area and back carrying our bags and no one ever said anything. It's certainly possible that someone was watching for armbands and we didn't notice but there was no "check point" that we saw. I guess if you were carrying a yeti cooler or something they might have said something but it seems if you just have typical beach bags they would not.

On another note, I actually didn't find the food at the pools particularly expensive. I think most things were $10 or less (hamburgers, wraps, etc.) which is about what I would expect at similar places.

Yes, without a hard-sided cooler, you'd have "blended in." :)

There was an employee stationed at each entrance from the beach when I was there in November. They're fairly casual about it but I DID see them turn some people around at the "stone steps" entrance (closest to the Lagoon Beach). They don't seem to check the wristbands closely, though, so I'm not sure how they knew mine was still valid after two days.

Yes, aside from the Marina Pizzeria those pool eateries (excepting the Lagoon Bar and Grill) are just about the only decent "deals" on the property itself.

The new burger place (replaced Johnny Rockets, thank goodness) and the Quiznos in the Marina Village are pretty much the remaining decent choices.

We will be in Nassau late January 2018. 2 adults, 3 children (11, 8, 6) I quickly checked online prices, we would have to do two rooms...but even at that it looks as though it would only be $111/pp

I have seen posts about water temps at that time of year not being ideal. Any feedback?

Don't forget to factor in any extra hotel service charges, housekeeping or utility fees, etc.

Whether these are included in your quoted price or not seems to depend on your method of booking. I use a certain well-known booking site (think WarmCable) for flight+hotel and so far I haven't been charged extra fees by the Comfort Suites (the online price is advertised as their final price), but there are tales of woe from others.

Regarding the water temps, the ocean will likely be chilly in late January...but if you're going for Atlantis and the water park, the ocean is not where you'll be heading. :)

I haven't noticed the water in the water park to be too chilly (in November) thus far, and assuming you have sunshine, it should be fine. It WAS a little chilly after sunset one year, though, with a cool front and drier air.

Just wondering- are the armbands the same as day passes? I saw in a post that when you are waiting on rides there is a priority for guests and during busy times day pass people are left waiting. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I am looking to do this in October. How much was the taxi from comfort suites to Atlantis? What is exactly included with the pass to Atlantis? Thanks!

You really do not need a taxi from comfort suites to atlantis. When you walk out the back door of comfort suites you will be right across the street from atlantis. The pass includes the entire water park, the beach, the digs (indoor aquarium).

I did the comfort suites deal for atlantis tickets once in early November 2012. Worked great. It was $300 for 4 people ($75) each. I tried that again in April 2013 but because of spring break it would have cost the same amount as buying tickets to atlantis. My point is time of year makes a difference on the amount you will save.

How many days is wristband good for? I am going to be in port for 3 days, currently have 1 night booked at Comfort but Atlantis beach tower price is similar and even better deal using hotel points.

You can get a second day wristband if you all head over to Atlantis with your card in the morning to get new bands for the day before you check out. You all must go together.

Before booking, do a mock booking that includes all taxes and fees, compare the cost to booking Atlantis directly, and day pass brokers. Booking a room is not always cheapest.

Does that apply to Comfort Suites and Atlantis towers - you can get 2 day passes for one night stay?

Yes, as an overnight guest, you can get a wristband before check out for that day. ALL members of your party must get a wristband each day.

Thanks, I know most people from cruise ships check in/out at the same time but we are also on the extended 3 night stopover.
