Thanks all, we took the late flight instead. Now off to figure out what to do to kill 8 hours before our flight.

The Port will hold luggage. This was confirmed when we attended an open house a few weeks ago.

Tour the Historic Downtown Strand; Texas Seaport Museum and Tall ship Elissa, 3 - 20 minute movies at Pier 21 (Jean Lafitte the Pirate, Immigration into Galveston, the Great Storm of 1900)Ocean Star Drilling Rig Museum and Railroad Museum, these are all walking distance from the Port; take a tour of Galveston. Many restaurants on Pier 21 and Strand/Post Office area (Post Office has art galleries).

Does Liberty typically clear customs on time? I know it's a crap shoot but we would like to self-debark and take an 11:30 flight on Sunday this coming August 27.

If you walk off with bags with early priority disembarkation,

you will be first in line for immigration,

and if you have your transfer waiting ,

you can make it.

Everything needs to go smoothly.

In the past,

Immigration can be problem!

Immigration has not shown up timely, and inadequate staffing, and computers have gone down.

Presently Liberty arrival on time barring mother nature, Timing of RCCL Liberty releasing passengers,

Terminal and Port procedures are working fine.

Wow! I would never try it. I think most lines say never book before noon. And, thats early to me. You just never know! Hobby is not that far, but I wouldn't want to be that rushed. It would make me nervous!!! LOL.. like getting to the ship 5 mins before having to be onboard! Nope, no way!
