"cancel for any reason" results?

I filed a claim for 75% of unrefundable cruise fare on the RCI travel insurance, which offfers "cancel for any reason", for my Aug. 27 Liberty cruise. I was advised by the insurance company that my claim should be settled in about 3 weeks and that I would get a letter stating the amount of credit RCI was giving for future cruises. Can anyone share their experience with this type of claim, please? I know the cruise was eventually formally cancelled, but we didn't wait and cancelled a couple of days prior to the cruise date.

Cancel for any reason has no such restriction on the policy. What are you talking about?

RCI policies don't have this requirement. But, insurance policies for "cancel for any reason" through outside parties, such as Travelguard or Travelsafe, require cancellation within a set number of hours before your trip.
