Castaway after Irma

I would take an overnight at PC with free admission and transportation to WDW as an alternate to CC.
Given that 1 day admission (not including transportation) to the Magic Kingdom costs $132 per person ($185 if you want to be able to visit more than one park), that would actually be a remarkably sweet deal.

Actually a sweet deal for Disney too. Assume 3,500 people take the offer to head to WDW, that's 3,500 lunches and 3,500 dinners NOT served on the ship. That's 3,500 people BUYING lunch, dinner and snacks at the parks. And 3,500 people buying Disney souvenirs and photos at the parks.

As if all 3500 guests would go and pay the incredibly high prices for mediocre quality restaurant meals in the theme parks, assuming that they could actually get reservations at meal times. The last time we had dinner at the Magic Kingdom we waited ten minutes in line to check in because a half dozen people in line in front of us, without advance reservations, would not take, "Sorry, but there are no reservations to be had for the rest of the evening at any sit down restaurant in the park," for an answer and proceeded to harass the cast member to keep checking, make phone calls, get the manager, etc. And this was in early February, not any kind of school holiday. Visiting the Magic Kingdom without a lot of advance planning, these days, makes for a pretty sucky experience for people who want something other than hot dogs for dinner. Getting into the parks for free might be valued at well over $500 for a family of four but without 30-60 days notice it won't be a carefree day if decent meals matter and you have an aversion to two hour waits for three minute rides.

In the past (at least on some occasions) when DCL gave guests an unscheduled park admission, they also provided special meal venue, at least for one meal. The one I remember was at EPCOT. Of course, had you chosen to be at Magic Kingdom for the day, your choice was to come over to EPCOT for lunch or to purchase something on your own. This area was not open to regular park guests, the food was "free" with your KTTW card from the ship. Perhaps not ideal, but they made an effort.
