DIY Lima Peru?

Because of the location of the port area, most of the cruise

lines run shuttles to two large shopping malls. Callao is a large working port. At the malls there will

be lots of taxi drivers and private tour operator there.

If you know where you want to go it is easy. We always

walk through the mall to a different opening, again always

taxis waiting to take you somewhere. You arrange by the

location the price. It is always much cheaper outside the main

drop off area. Be sure to take a photo of the entrance y.ou are using as the mall can be confusing. You arrange price

by the location, rather than a meter ride. Traffic is very

bad in Lima, and do take this into consideration when DYI

tour. You will need to return to the mall to get back to your

ship. It can take between 20 to 40 minutes to get to the malls

Downtown Lima is an interesting area with many beautiful Squares, the palace ( watch the changing of the guards) you'll recognize the song they play as a Simon and Garfunkel tune!!

Also make sure to visit the San Francisco Church .

The Miraflores area is also lovely area to walk around and visit the shopping area across from the Marriott.
