The blog starts few day before the original voyage on NORWEGIAN GETAWAY - on ROYAL PRINCESS.

A very special guest arrived and I saw the need to take her around: individually by train from Warnemünde, Germany to Berlin, Germany and back.

http://heinbloed-ncl.blogspot.com/2017/08/tagday-0a-vor-derbefore-norwegian.html

Then I need to go again for one day in my office to Basle, Switzerland before we start our voyage ourselves.

So soon when we are going on the voyage of our own in the Baltic Sea.

If you embark in Warnemünde, Germany you need to cross out of Basle, Switzerland half of Germany.

So our stops took us to Eisenach, Thuringia - Berlin. Great stations on the way to Warnemünde. Tuning in for St. Petersburg and Russia.

Great places worth to visit longer.

The blog on the way to NORWEGIAN GETAWAY continues:

See you then in Warnemünde.

Night in Warnemünde: nice meeting: Athina of VIKING SEA, MAGELLA and Sylvia and Gunnar whom we cruise together in fall on MSC MERAVIGLIA.

Finally: NORWEGIAN GETAWAY arrived in Warnemünde. But do not asked me for the circumstances...

"Berliner" for the crew - instead of VIP-service for me.

Great embarkation. But even thus: as Warnemünde guest you are 2nd class - Copenhagen guests are treated better!

Rostock because my windscreen need to be replaced. A great start for vacation.

Our board photographer: finally pictures of us on NORWEGIAN GETAWAY.

Total Happiness in the evenig: meeting Lloyd Lloyd in La Cucina. And Shenny is living!!!

Finally day at sea. The blog on NORWEGIAN GETAWAY continues. The perfect start for a cruise.

A great start with our breakfast with Rian Ang and Analiza Repuelo.

A well-organised cruisecritic.com-Meet & Greet. Thanks to Cnythia and Laura Pinarretta.

Big surprise: Chandra Muttam!!! Since 2009 we knew him. Now he is Maître D'. To see him again was a real pleasure for us.

Further surprises from previous voyages: Niño Isada and Ricky Dagalea. Here we know: NCL-service like we appreciate from many years from NCL.

VIP-Party with Captain Johan Stofling, Hotel Director Errol Bailey and his charming assistant Magnolia Encina.

Only Shenny...

Dinner then with Ocean Blue... unfortunately the chef felt in love...

Day 3 of the blog on NORWEGIAN GETAWAY took us to Tallinn, Estonia. It was now eleven years ago when we had the call on our very first cruise .

Here we met Mikael Hilden, who was now Captain on VIKING STAR... und finally again Shenny...

Here we met also our previous tour guide Sigrid who took us around eleven years ago. So she could easily explained the changes.

Finally I could buy my "Norwegian"-Sweater and I must not be angry on myself for not having done it then.

I tested if my Swiss health insurance card was accepted in Estonia: unfortunately not. I need to pay by myslef.

Now I could introduce our cabin steward Kiran Rane after I was looking for his card with his name for three days but it was not anymore.

The evening we spent at the Sushi-Bar. Everything was good again! Thank you Sipriana Betty, Immaculate Deja, Cher Fuentes, Jennifer Ballesteros.

The 4th day of the voyage on NORWEGIAN GETAWAY took us to St. Petersburg, Russia.

The day started perfectly: a nice sunrise and a great breakfast with an excellent service by Daniel Tresham and I Wayan Agustama.

The 1st day of two days in St. Petersburg we booked with Best Guides St. Petersburg a tour. We were expected by Anna and German with a great car.

Following our wish we went i.e. into a Market Hall. And finally having Russian food in Russia.

The highlight of the day was Peterhof. A reason to come back one day and to experience more intensive again.

Thereafter relaxation with Kailash Nagortoni in the Vibe and a great dinner again with Niño Isada and Sulistio Anggraini.

And a perfect end of the 1st day: Firework over St. Petersburg.

More will follow from the 2nd in St. Petersburg.

The 2nd day in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Again a beautiful day which started with a breakfast with Eric Sioco and Franz Romano.

And again meeting with Hiedy and Madonna who served little goodies on board.

Today we are heading with Anna and public transport to the city. It is much more simplier than I ever had expected before.

First we go by bus to the subway and then to the office of Best Guides St. Petersburg to pay our debts.

Then the Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood and Eremitage followed.

So we deserved a lunch break in Cafe Sever after so much art and culture and many cobblestones.

Unfortunately we made also some bad experiences which we will take home from St. Petersburg.

Before Anna escorts us back safely to the port we see the Kasan Cathedrale.

The only bad weather we have on the whole cruise when we were exiting and passing Kronstadt.

For dinner we see Le Bistro.

We are heading to Helsinki on Day 6 of the voyage on NORWEGIAN GETAWAY. Half of the gorgeous cruise is already gone.

Finally a "calmer" day: The 6th day on NORWEGIAN GETAWAY in Helsinki, Finland.

We start direct with the "Bad Bad Boy" - instead of Manneken Pis. The highlight: a Street Food Festival.

We were welcomed backed by Shenny and Gina.

The evening we spent in the Illusionarium.

Dinner-Varieté - a great experience. With a nice service of Jelena Belic.

A rendezvous at night with COSTA MEDITERRANEA.

http://heinbloed-ncl.blogspot.ch/2017/08/tagday-6-auf-deron-norwegian-getaway-in.html

It follows the very nicest part of the voyage: Stockholm, Sweden on Day 7 of the voyage.

Day 7 is for me the most beautiful day of the voyage on NORWEGIAN GETAWAY.

Für one the highlight might be St. Petersburg, Russia - for me it was entering the archipelago to reach Stockholm, Sweden.

It is worth to wake up at 04.15 hrs.

A great natural landscape and a great city are expecting us. Would we docked in Nynäshamn: we would only have a great city. That is why it is so important to make sure that you dock in Stockholm and not in Nynäshamn.

Anger because we arrive later, Anger because we do not dock in the City Center, Anger because we had guests onboard who are wallies.

The best therapy: Stockholm, the archipelago and ABBA - The Museum: After a round "Mamma Mia" and "Dancing Queen" and everything is good. You should get it on prescription.

A Segway-Tour with Frederick and DayTrip Stockholm through one of the most beutiful city I know so far.

Luckily you have the archipelago twice: we need to return to the open sea. The perfect place to enjoy is Vibe.

The day started in the morning with Shenny who also enjoyed entering the town.

And the day ends with a great dinner in Tropicana and a great service again with Daniel and I Wayan.

So far definately an (almost) perfect day. Here you should stay overnight...

Unfortunately "Wonderful Copenhagen" was the next to follow already. How fast time flies.

Still not Copenhagen, Denmark but another day at sea or full of stress: Day no. 8 of the voyage on NORWEGIAN GETAWAY.

A waiter who reminded us to Aydin and Ernesto: Stewart Housen and Paul Ayun. Fantastic how he remembered what we had days before.

Such a large ship and you always meet the same people: Angelika and Andreas, whom we knew from the first day. With them we went together into the ice bar.

Snoopy and Shenny. Fits perfectly. The start of the end: Saying good-bye to Ricky and his co-worker Josephine Galvez. And also the first good-bye from the Vibe: the 2nd of our waiters: Nicoly Nieda Doi.

An amusing way to learn more on wine: Wine Lovers The Musical. And again for Indian lunch buffet. Why do you have to pack all good items on one single day?

Like the tonight's show with Rob Linacre - FANTASTIC. I would like to have every day. And every day a farewell show.

Last not least another dinner in La Cucina with Lloyd, I Gusti and Alex Cotilla, Diana Ayala.

http://heinbloed-ncl.blogspot.com/2017/08/seetagday-at-sea-8-auf-deron-norwegian.html

So then we have the next day "Wonderful Copenhagen" before we are coming to the end.

Day 9 of the voyage on NORWEGIAN GETAWAY follows: finally "Wonderful Copenhagen", Denmark.

Our welcome is done by ZUIDERDAM who is waiting for us in the terminal.

The mandatory Copenhagen-itinerary followed: Round Tower - Tivoli - Little Mermaid.

For more we had no time unfortunately as we had a lunch appointment with friends whom we knew for many years: Kirsten and her family.

The last night we spend again in Cagney's because Chandra wanted to show us the different selection on Breakaway-Ships and Jewel-Ships.

And because we had a very special reason to celebrate: my 25th sailing with NCL. Nice to have Rashida, Shenny and Silas coming by to congratulate.

No matter what happened: a very nice voyage comes to the end. In Germany only a chaos due to railline closure towards my workplace in Switzerland is waiting for me.

http://heinbloed-ncl.blogspot.com/2017/08/tagday-9-auf-deron-norwegian-getaway-in.html

Unfortunately we have to head back to Warnemünde, Germany for debarkation.

Arrival in Warnemünde, Germany. Somehow we are sad that we have to leave the ship.

The last faces of NORWEGIAN GETAWAY whom we really like to remember Shenny, Rashida, Chandra, Niño, Mehmet and Eduardo.

Thanks to Mr Herter of easy-Parken for helping us to transfer our bags to the hotel to keep them ready for collection.

I get a nice debarkation picture by the City of Rostock as souvenir... for 125 USD... free home delivered...

We go to pick up Bruno's parents in Kühlungsborn, Germany and via Schwerin, Germany and Salzwedel, Germany we are getting to Goslar, Germany.

Here Ingrid and Angela are wating for us.

http://heinbloed-ncl.blogspot.com/2017/08/tagday-10-auf-deron-norwegian-getaway.html

NCL-GETAWAY-2017-10.jpg

The next day we are heading to Hagen, Germany to meet other good friends Hans-Hermann and Carmen and they help us to give Bruno's Father a great feeling back when he was trainee in Hagen.

In Viersen we met then my parents and so we could remember together with Bruno's parents all the nice cruises we did together.

Our bags arrive and also a great book to bridge the time to the next cruise: "Has the ship ever sank before?"

At home NCL asks how we like the cruise: well we do not become friends of the NORWEGIAN GETAWAY. That does not matter since we make many new friends.

Many of them again as new ambassadors for NCL on Facebook who show us with their postings what we might do not know from the world and need to see and to share their life onboard and the good reasons why we should book NCL again.

So a special thank to the new Facebook-Friends Analiza, Tricia, Kiran, Sipriana, Jennifer, Daniel, Wayan, Nicoly, Josephine, Rashida, Mehmet and all others who are not on Facebook unfortunately and delivered us an unforgettable cruise.

And the long-year friends like Shenny, Chandra, Lloyd, Ricky, Niño who gave us immediately the feeling that we were back onboard home with good friends.

http://heinbloed-ncl.blogspot.com/2017/08/tagday-1112-nach-derafter-norwegian.html

We are looking forward for NORWEGIAN SPIRIT which should follow as next NCL-ship: even she is older: she is spreading a wonderful charm due to Feng-Shui. I love her. She fits to me!

The next blog starts November 2017 from MSC MERAVIGLIA. Thanks for taking the time to read.
